When it comes to unique romantic getaways in Wales, Cardiff is a great shout.

Found in a stylish, Grade II-listed building, it hosts regular live music performances and shakes up some of the quirkiest cocktails you ever did see.

Swansea

This waterfront city is ideal for romantic getaways in Wales for couples.

STAY: The Oyster House - If you're looking for romantic hotels in Wales, this seaside sensation is showcasing a number of stylish, boutique rooms that'll make you feel all loved up. And when you're not catching 40 winks? You can sip a cocktail on the rooftop terrace with killer coastal views.

DO: While perhaps better known for its nightlife and restaurant scene, Swansea is also home to some seriously idyllic landscapes. Whether you're lapping up the sunset from the beach, taking a picturesque stroll through Clyne Gardens or rambling around Penllergare Valley Woods, you'll have a crackin' time indeed.

EAT: BrewStone - Enjoy a bit of well-deserved time together at this independent restaurant that's renowned for its rustic-chic interiors and Mediterranean munch. On the menu? Mushroom tagliatelle, wood-fired pizza and slow-cooked lamb.

DRINK: Peppermint - For some of the best libations in town, shimmy over to Wind Street and guzzle both classic and signature cocktails.

Portmeirion

Portmeirion offers one of the most romantic breaks in Wales going.

STAY: Castell Deudraeth - How about staying in an actual castle? Boasting dramatic turrets, an atmospheric Victorian garden and views over the countryside, this one is primed for weekend breaks in Wales. The former manor house also has its very own spa so you can indulge in a bit of extra R&R.

DRINK: No.6 Cafe Bar - Nestled in the centre of the village, this laid-back hangout is keeping thirst at bay with a small but mighty lineup of local beers and wines.

Llandudno

Whether you fancy sightseeing or a spa retreat, Llandudno is the place to go.

STAY: The Quay Hotel and Spa - Fronting killer views across the water, all the way to the Conwy Castle, this one is simply superb for romantic getaways in North Wales. And, if you feel like you need a little extra relaxation, you can pamper yourself with a treatment at the spa.

DO: Enjoy The Natural Beauty - Found up north, Llandudno is as charming as you can get, fronting craggy cliffs, golden beaches and a fantastic culinary scene. But our favourite thing to do? It has to be taking a tram to the summit of Great Orme - the view is to die for.

Wye Valley

Chill to the max in the stunning surrounds of Wye Valley.
