An Immersive Experience Where You "Cook Up" Your Own Molecular Cocktails Is Heading To Newcastle

ABQ Newcastle

Opens

Venue Closed

After becoming one of the most talked about experiences in East London, ABQ is heading up north. You’ll get to create smoking, bubbling and very drinkable cocktails from an RV-turned-lab. However, you’ll have to be quick – as the pop-up is only sticking around for three months from the end of September.

The concept comes from Lollipop, the brains behind other bonkers experiences such as The Bunyadi (the naked restaurant), who have collaborated with Lane7 to bring you this brilliant drinking destination. While they started out in the Big Smoke, they've now garnered world-wide fame, boasting ABQs in New York, Paris, Manchester and now Newcastle.

Step into your hazmat suit, don your gas mask and make your way inside the old motorhome, which is now a secret lab – sorry, cocktail bar. The place has been decked out with old metal barrels as seats, graffiti on the walls and chemical apparatus lined up on the desks. Here, you’ll get to “cook up” a delicious batch of theatrical, molecular mixes, using props such as syringes, flasks and vials. While we’re not quite sure what the music will be saying just yet, the London ABQ plays hip-hop and gangster rap tunes to soundtrack your experience, so we're hoping you can expect the same here.
