This summer, The Cotton Factory is opening its kitchen to the city’s finest independent food businesses. Located at Whitworth Locke, the all-new concept hosts regular residencies from food and drink purveyors, starting with taco-slinging stars El Camino.
The Mexican eatery will be in situ throughout the season, with more businesses gearing up to take over The Cotton Factory for three month periods once they have finished. The 78-cover restaurant features a large open-plan kitchen with colourful furnishings and large windows with plants dotted around the venue. They also happen to share the building with Foundation Coffee House and The Conservatory.
El Camino have kicked off proceedings by creating a bespoke menu for their new settlement, showcasing the finest in their signature tacos and tequila. Dishes include braised ox cheek tacos with chipotle aioli, rib eye-steaks, pork chops and chipotle cauliflower tacos. There’s also the mouth watering Mexican fondue, aka queso fundido, to get stuck into while sipping on South American-inspired cocktails.
