Situated on Deansgate underneath a bright, neon light, MNKY HSE is a fantastic day-to-night restaurant serving some of the finest Latin American fare around. Expect pretty lighting, quirky paintings, an open kitchen and even live DJ sets on weekends as its club is open 'til 4am from Friday to Sunday. The innovative cuisine is thanks to chef Mark Morrans, who oversees a vibrant sharing menu for guests to enjoy. The set menu comes in at £29 per person and includes everything from wild mushroom tacos to chicken robata and roasted cauliflower. They offer brunch here as well, including 90 minutes of bottomless drinks for as little as £40 per person.

Not quite Mexico, but not far off: Revolucion De Cuba is bringing a taste of Latin America to Deansgate. Sporting hanging plates, distressed, exposed brick walls and quirky tiled flooring, the space is home to live music, late-night cocktails and enviable brunches. It's the food that really captures our hearts though, as the lively restaurant serves delicious burritos filled with slow-cooked shredded beef and chicken fajitas, alongside hearty tapas such as black bean and feta empanadas. And to drink? There's a Cuban Icons menu as well as one centred around margaritas, featuring coconut or melon versions. 

From the same masterminds behind Belzan in Liverpool and London's Breddos comes an authentic, design-led Mexican eatery that's name directly translates as 'mother'. Just shy of Piccadilly station, Madre's interiors are mesmerising as soon as you step foot through its door - pastel pinks pair with lime greens and are met with the warm, orange glow of domed lamps. Its menu is an agave-focussed drinks list that steals the limelight, with tipples like peach margaritas (£12) and the Lopo Chapo (£10), made with slow berry-infused mezcal and apricot. To eat, you can get excited about crispy, tender pork belly bites (£8.50), seabass ceviche tostadas (£13.50) and chorizo tacos (£10.50).

Las Iguanas started in Bristol in 1991 and has since expanded with outposts up and down the country, offering a smattering of dishes from Mexico and South America, including DIY tacos. Its Deansgate space fronts the same rich colour palette inspired by the southern hemisphere and plays uplifting Latin beats while diners dig into fare inspired by Buenos Aires and vibrant Mexican street food markets. Mixed fajita stacks are on the menu alongside mushroom enchiladas, chilli corn carne and vegetarian chimichangas.
