Each week we get behind the decks with the very best resident DJs from across the Manchester club scene, chatting about the newest releases, the best clubs and the picks of the month. This week we've got a special edition of Behind the Decks, bringing a few words with a name that has been known around Manchester for quite some time, a name that is now synonymous with an incredible tune thats recently reached no.7 in the UK charts, a name that is now synonymous with high quality House, Deep house and disco sets across the Europe. He is the Creative Director of Purp & Soul, and man who lines up with his Manchester Peers at 2022NQ on October 25th. He is Mr Ben Pearce

What do you love most about the clubbing scene in Manchester?

There's a huge range, from Warehouse Project to Soup Kitchen, such a contrast but serving a common purpose.

What makes Manchester so important to the UK club scene?

Rich history, with the Hacienda and so many amazing inspirations coming from this place. More recently, the bass scene is very inspired from Manchester.

What’s one of the best club nights you have ever been to in Manchester?

Favourite place to party in Manchester?

I never get to party in Manchester really anymore, if it is it's usually bars or hanging out with my friends, real close bunch.

Favourite Manchester bar for pre-club drinks?

I really like the Knott, Gaslamp or Port Street Beer House!

What's your favourite tune  of all time to hear in a club?

Anything by Prince.

If you could throw a club night with any two DJs going back to back in your own living room for 20 of your mates, who would you choose?

Rahaan & Theo Parrish, party! (good question, hard question!)

Pick of the month?

Track: Laszlo Dancehall - Whip What

Club night: It's hard not to be narcissistic with this, I've not been to any nights this month where I haven't been DJ-ing, but Bestival was unbelievable!

Finally, if you could choose one club in the  world to go to for the rest of your life, which would it be?

Sub-Club, probably :)

You can catch Ben Pearce at 2022NQ on Friday 25th October.
