When a great performer steps on to the stage they hold the audience in the palm of their hands, casting a spell over the audience and mesmerising with every look and movement. Some of this is innate - what we call "star quality", but some of it is also technique - what we call stage craft. This 2 hour workshop will give you some exercises and techniques to help you practice and develop the skills really needed to elevate your presence on the stage and heighten the drama for the audience.
Please wear dance clothing and bring a pair of long gloves, and a robe, dress or similar you are happy worth with. If you wear them please bring heels (no wedges, high platform or pole dancing heels please).
This session will be taught by Tempest Rose. UK Burlesque royalty, Tempest has headlined the UK's most celebrated cabaret stages, toured No1 theatres and been flown to India, Rome, Amsterdam, Paris and Milan all the way to The Slipper Room in New York and for The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend in Las Vegas. Tempest has appeared as a burlesque artist and expert on MTV, BBC3, BBC Ideas, ITV2, Channel 4 as well as been featured on BBC1's Heir Hunters taking about the history of The Windmill in Soho and fandancing. She has been interviewed and featured in all major UK press. An expert on the artform she believes has revolutionary potential she has taught burlesque at the V&A, universities and to thousands of women worldwide.

To find the studio: If you are coming from Kentish Town Tube, turn left out of the tube, and walk down the hill. After four minutes, you’ll see Patshull Road on your left. Clean Break’s Studio can be found down the alley on the right hand side of Patshull Road (immediately behind the Job Centre) - this is the first right from the Kentish Town Road end. Please ring the buzzer for entry.
ALL GUESTS will be asked to sign in each week. Please note you will be allowed on site a maximum of 10 minutes before class start time.
All class bookings are non-refundable. Should you no longer be able to attend let us know at info@houseofburlesque.co.uk as the session is very popular and often runs a waiting list for places so we may be able to resell your ticketAll participants must ensure that they have no current medical conditions or existing injuries which would prohibit them from taking part in the session.
Any person who participates in House of Burlesque Ltd Classes shall do so at their own risk. By attending class, you are certifying that you are in good health.

T&Cs
1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.
