Chuku's

Description

Co-founded by brother-sister duo Emeka and Ifeyinwa Frederick and only a short walk from Seven Sisters Station, the contemporary hideout Chuku's brings elements of Lagos and beyond in the form of innovative small plates, with socialising at its core.

Instantly welcoming, the space features coral walls, inspired by adobe clay, vibrant Nigerian artwork hanging from the wall and the hum of chillout music under excited chatter. Whether you're familiar with the traditional cuisine or not, you'll be in for a treat as dishes take an unfamiliar approach to the classics, like the signature jollof quinoa and plantain waffles. The restaurant recommends three to four picks for a hearty meal, with options like chicken wings coated in salted caramel inviting you in and its sinasir (rice pancakes) with miyan taushe (pumpkin and peanut dipping sauce) sealing the deal.

Far from a one-trick pony, Chuku's caters to events and serves an unmissable bottomless brunch for £35 per person. Discover bespoke tipples such as The Obi, made with palm wine and coconut rum, and The Eze, featuring tequila, mint and zobo.
