In general it was a good an basic Sushi class, it does not fill your belly but you get 20% discount if you top up in the restaurant after. Its brilliant that they encourage everyone to wash their hands before touching food, but everyone was getting the rice from the same bowl, and even though we have all washed our hands, the lady next to me was constantly on her phone taking pictures and her phone was on a case with cash paper on it. Maybe they should separate the rice into small bowls so each one of us don't have to pick from the same bowl . Another guy was liking his hands to get the rice of his fingers, and again putting his hands back in the bowl where we all get the rice from.. So strongly suggest we get individual rice bowls visited Inamo Covent Garden on 14 Nov 2017

Booked my friends birthday dinner and it was great! Maria looked after our booking and she was a star, super polite and attentive. Made sure all details where just right. The personalised table cloth was such a fun idea and it was really apprivated by the birthdya boy! After reading some negative reviews we dodnt know what to expect, but it was a overall great experience and we will be back! visited Inamo Covent Garden on 14 Oct 2017

There was too many people for one chef and the chef was running up and down. The rice bowl should have been dish individually, there only 2 bowls of water to wash hand and everyone has put their hand in the dirty water. Then we went to the basement for the sake class, the light was not working, lots of other people were having a drink and chatting, the person doing the demonstration had to shout so that everyone can hear. It was very very poorly organised. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 10 Oct 2017

They need to have better organisation, the hostesses need to be a bit more polite and have less sassy attitude towards the customers. The sushi class was too packed so most of us had no idea what we were doing as sushi chef had to tend to too many people at once. Food was being passed around by other attendees to everyone with no gloves and even though I washed my hands, I was not confident everyone in our large table did so. During the sake class, the very nice sake teacher could barely be heard over the loud crowd at the dark downstairs bar. Would honestly not recommend this to a friend due to these facts. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 10 Oct 2017

Booking process was overly difficult. Course was overbooked, some people turned away/left. Too many people in the sushi class. Sushi chef difficult to understand. Poorly lit area for sake tasting. Too noisy to hear sake instructor. Would not recommend. However, the sake instructor was excellent and very knowledgeable. Christopher visited Inamo Covent Garden on 10 Oct 2017

I've been before and it was great. However, this time the menu was much more limited and a lot of the food wasn't good at all. I booked Inamo for a large group booking. I found the back office team were not particulaly helpful when speaking to them on the phone to clarify the nature of the group booking/menu and were usually keen to get off the phone quickly. In addition, I paid extra to have a personalised table cloth and even called up a few days before the event to confirm this was all ok - however when we got there, there was no personalised tablecloth! This was upsetting as it was meant to be a special extra for the bride to be. After this I emailed Inamo to get a refund and I did get my money back but NO apology whatsoever! Having said that, the staff at the restaurant on the night were great, friendly and the lady who greeted us managed to speak to her manager and put a few of the pictures on the table. Food was great too but sadly the whole experience was unfortunately ruined by the lack of diligence of the back office staff. In conclusion - great for a small group/easy bookings, food was good with variety with the set menu but I wouldn't trust this restaurant with large groups/parties! visited Inamo Covent Garden on 05 Aug 2017

It was ok. I wouldn't recommend to any friends. There's small print when booking for groups of 15 and larger they apparently say you have to pay the full meal price before you've even tasted the food. The waiters were slapping the food on the table, and not explaining what it was. If anything go to the soho branch. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 09 Sep 2017

I wasn't impressed with our experience. I called to amend the booking size and was told we didn't have a booking even though I had the confirmation email from a few weeks prior. They told us we would have to split onto 2 tables if we did have 8 in our group as their tables weren't big enough, but they had at least 2 spare tables when we got there that would have seated 8 which never had anyone on throughout our meal. We were told we would only have the table for an hour and a half. The staff were slow at clearing our plates which was difficult as we were ordering lots of different items and there was no space for the new ones. We couldn't use the projectors on the tables to order our food, which is the whole point of the restaurant in my opinion and we had to order via the iPad. The coffees we ordered at the end of the evening took a long time to arrive, much longer than the deserts we ordered a the same time. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 30 Aug 2017

Amazing food. The drinks could have been served a bit faster. It took 40 minutes to make 14 drinks and a coke, and we were served food before our wine got to the table. I would have been nice to have had a bit more information regarding the tasting menu, so we knew how much food was comming, and also that both tables got the same food. One of the tables did'nt tast the same as the other. But... alltogether a great experience and som e great food. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 16 Aug 2017

After reading rave reviews of this experience unfortunately Inamo were off there game the evening my boyfriend and I visited. The chef who taught our group to make the sushi was far from interactive considering it's an interactive restaurant! I had a feeling it was the end of his shift and all he wanted to do was get home instead of teaching 4 couples how to roll and shape rice! After we made our sushi, which by the way was delicious, you couldn't fault the fluffy rice and tasty raw fish that was prepared for us, we moved onto the Sake masterclass. The lady knew her stuff about sake but unfortunately like the sushi chef her delivery was a little off. She came across quite timid and at times a little confused between the sushi and the sake! Also I would advise not to come hungry. Whilst the sake lady went through the quite extensive history of sake and its origin we were not allowed to eat our sushi. Agreed it did complement the sushi and sake together but perhaps a glass whilst we sat and listened would have been a bit better. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 25 Jul 2017

Food was amazing and so much of it, the Tasting menu was food everywhere you could look. Staff were great as well, very accommodating. Csilla helped when I sent photos in advance to customise the tables for a birthday. Be warned though they are very strict on pre-brooking terms - we had people drop out last minute and there is no budging on pre-payments. Doug visited Inamo Covent Garden on 15 Jul 2017

I took a group of students on a school trip. We pre-ordered the set sharing menu. The advance booking team was wonderful to work with and even changed the venue the morning of the booking to a different location at our request. The staff at that location was fantastic. They understood our time constraints and let us sneak in 15 minutes early to get a head start on drink orders, etc. The students loved the concept and the food was fantastic. If you are doing the pre-planned menu you may want to have extra money in your budget for specialty drinks and/or a few a la carte items that your group can pick on the day. We will definitely go again in the future with another group. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 26 Jun 2017

We've booked the Onyx Bar at Inamo Covent Garden for a company event. The people we spoke to were very helpful and friendly during the whole process, and on the day of the event the waiters were really nice. The food was fresh and tasty! Overall we had an okay experience. Complaints being that the service was slow, some guests got their food 25 minites after others. And the I had to ask for the table to be cleared after it was left dirty a good 15 minutes after everyone finished eating. Despite the fact we booked on an empty Wednesday evening the service seemed slow and sluggish. Apart from the service the food was good quality. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 14 Jun 2017

Exciting and funky place, yet suitable for corporate evenings. We went with a group of 10+ and there weren't any hitches in the evening. Great food, not too expensive, and quick enough service. If you want traditional then perhaps look elsewhere: Inamo features tablet-based menus and interactive lighting features on the table! Received complimentary drinks for an advance group booking too! The service was poor. We were a big group and no communication about being on separate tables when actually we all fit round one. One of our starters was served to wrong table. Our drinks took forever to arrive Our mains were served before some people had had their starters. My main was served when everyone else on the table had finished their meal. No apology given until I had to get up and complain about the wait and the service. We were then given some free drinks but really would have preferred better service. Overall really disappointing considering we had so much communication with the restaurant before. visited Inamo Covent Garden on 16 May 2017

I celebrated my 18th birthday dinner at Inamo Covent Garden, there was firstly a delay on the table yet they did send us down to the bar and gave us complementary drinks. This restaurant is advertised suggesting the interactive tables are the main attraction for this restaurant, but this is not the case. What an overrated restaurant/bar! Service is painfully slow and the food though nice enough is nothing special although. The tech is no big deal either and it had to be reset as it was faulty. The tech in fact made everything so much slower which was really annoying, better to just interact with a waiter.. Cocktails are great, very tasty indeed...but you could just save yourself the bother and head to a cocktail bar. The booking process was a bit confusing...we were told we had 2 hours to fine which was tight enough but upon arrival were told we had an hour and a half. This restaurant had some work to do!!! I really wanted to love it, but it's just not that great and I'm not sure I'd bother to return. Our waiter was just lovely though.

I've been going to Inamo in Wardour Street for a number of years and was looking forward to trying the new venue in Covent Garden. The obvious difference is the introduction of tablets on the tables acting as the "interactive menu" rather than the fully integrated interactive tables in Wardour Street. This meant that members of the party have to share one device rather than explore and add items from their own table. The introduction of the tablet hinders the hi-tech, fun, novelty element that was so synonymous with the name. The food here needs improvement to justify its steep prices -especially when there are so many top quality, cheaper Japanese restaurants in London. The miso black cod -although tasty- lacked its silky texture and rich flavour. Neither did the wagyu burger make an impression to really distinguish it's superiority to any other slider I've had. Overall, it wasn't an unpleasant evening but it certainly didn't have any wow factor for me to recommend or return. fullmetalpixie visited Inamo Covent Garden on 19 Jan 2016

Wow! Really great experience! The waitress takes you to your table that has an interactive mouse pad and screen on the table-top where you can view the menu/drinks etc projected on the table! There are also games to play with your fellow-diners and you the opportunity to peak into the kitchen with a live camera! The food was delicious too. The service was great and your bill is right in front of you. The drinks and food are slightly over-priced for portion sizes but I guess this counter-acts with the experience. Overall a great eve!
