Now Open

Lauded in France for their big and brash pizzerias, Big Mamma group have had no problem settling into London with the much-buzzed about Gloria in Shoreditch. And now they're expanding their overseas work with a huge new opening in Rathbone Square, not far from Tottenham Court Road.

In keeping with bigger is better, Circolo Popolare will be set in a ginormous 9000sq feet plot, along with a 60-seater outdoor terrace. While Gloria is all about the glitz and glamour of 1950s Amalfi, the new restaurant will be based on Sicily, with festoon lighting and hundreds of plants replicating a mountain.

Food, as always, is homely Italian, but cranked up a notch. Metre-long pizzas topped with burrata, whopping plates of pasta, and a litre of ice cream will all feature on the menu. Aiming to bring a taste of South Italian summer to London, there will also be homemade gelatos, including flavours such as Amalfi lemon and pistachio.
