Here at the Victoria we have served millions of drinks since we opened our doors in 1838 but just what people drink has changed over the decades. To help us celebrate our 180th birthday we have invited the highly acclaimed and rather wonderful Jane Peyton, award winning drinks educator, writer, broadcaster and founder of the School of Booze to regale us on how the Victoria itself has evolved and enlighten us on what our customers’ have been drinking over the years. Jane will be joined by the wonderful Nick Miller who will provide a little bit of musical history to accompany the talk. Tickets include samples of four different beer styles that reflect how tastes have changed since the pub opened and also a half pint of the Victoria’s very own Victoria ‘London Dry’ Pale Ale based on the botanicals used to distil gin; the recipe for which was devised by us and brewed by our team at Fuller’s new Pilot brewery in Chiswick. Ticket prices: £10 (includes beer samples and a half pint of our special Pale Ale) or £15 (includes beer samples and a half pint of our special Pale Ale and a signed copy of the book ‘Drink: A Tippler’s Miscellany’ by Jane Peyton.
