BOBBY MAIR

Bobby Mair is a dark, honest and loud stand up comic. He’s toured Europe, Canada and South Africa, delighting, shocking and amazing audiences with his brutally candid jokes.

On the moving picture box in the UK he’s appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, 8 Out of 10 Cats and has eviscerated his wife Harriet on Roast Battle.

He also wrote this bio. He has no friends to do that for him.

“A bona fide tour de force.” Guardian

“Will stamp pictures in your brain that may never go away.” The Scotsman

NEIL DELAMERE

Award-winning comedian Neil Delamere is one of the top acts working in the Irish comedy scene today, well known to audiences for his regular television appearances on RTE and the BBC as well as his hilarious sell-out stand up tours.

His deft turn of phrase, astonishing verbal dexterity and lightning fast wit have made him a formidable act on the stage and media. He continues to tour extensively at home and internationally, with appearances at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival (from which he presented the RTE television series covering the event) to name just a few. He is also a regular panellist on BBC 5 Live's Fighting Talk and recently appeared on BBC 4's The News Quiz.

“You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more gifted comic at the Fringe." The Scotsman

“No TV camera could accurately measure the lightning speed of Delamere’s wit.” Irish Times

MARISE GAUGHAN

An exciting name in the world of stand-up comedy, Irish comic Marise Gaughan is making waves with her dark and honest comedy style. Marise started her comedy career in Los Angeles, where she featured on some of the main comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store and The Hollywood Improv. Since returning to the UK, the Dublin-based comic has become a favourite in all the major comedy clubs and has supported Rob Delaney, Ari Shaffir and Jim Norton on tour.

Her debut show Drowning discusses her father’s (successful) suicide attempt and her own (unsuccessful one). It premiered at the Dublin Fringe Festival last September where it was nominated for the Fringe’s Spirit of Wit Moira Brady Averill Award for artists willing to take risks and whose work defies categorisation with bold and unconventional material and for the First Fortnight Award for shows that challenge stigma and prejudice about mental health.

“Original, personal and very funny.” Jim Norton

“Scalpel sharp, dark comedy at its most brilliant best, disturbing you right out of your comfort zone.” Arts Review

GARY TRO

As seen on BBC iPlayer and heard on BBC Radio 4, stand-up Gary Tro is an exciting breakthrough act making waves on the UK and international comedy circuit with his joyously angry and hilariously anarchic style of comedy. He’s also a talented improviser and performs as one half of nerd-culture double act The Just Us League

A regular on the touring circuit, in 2017 Gary supported Tez Ilyas on national tour and took his own show ‘SupercalifragilisticexpiGaryTrocious’ to festivals all across the UK and at the Charleston Comedy Festival USA.

CASSIE ATKINSON

From Bolton, Lancashire, Cassie has been performing for several years, hanging out with all the best people performing at The National Theatre and on Vic and Bob’s Big Night Out, as well as with her impeccably named sketch group Northern Power Blouse.  Her mixture of musical, sketch and madcap character comedy means the spirit of Victoria Wood is being kept alive and well!

“Hilariously dark... Incredibly funny...A true writing talent.”  British Comedy Guide

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.

"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.”  Huffington Post
