Description
LOST VOICE GUY
Lee Ridley - aka Lost Voice Guy - is a completely unique performer on the UK circuit as he is the only stand-up to perform using a communication aid. Born with cerebral palsy, Lee has been unable to communicate using his vocal chords and so instead turn to an aid. More importantly, Lee has been born funny, playing with an audience's discomfort expertly to upturn expectations and poke fun at society's perceptions of disability, as well as taking the piss out of himself as well. In just five years of performing Lee has been crowned BBC New Act of the Year, had a sitcom commissioned by Radio 4 (Ability - out later this year) and supported Patrick Kielty and Ross Noble on tour.
"Funny, personal, occasionally shocking and laugh out loud funny." Independent
"A wonderful comedian." Matt Lucas
"A very funny guy." Ross Noble
ARIELLE SOUMA
In her own words, Arielle Souma is a real double F. . . French & Fabulous! Based in Brixton Arielle Souma has added colour, diversity and a powerhouse stage presence to the comedy scene. Her distinctive style is punchy, blunt, accessible and empowering! Unsurprisingly she has graced the final of many new act competitions and blew the place to bits last time she performed on our stage. She was so good we've asked her back to open the show and it's sure to be a firecracker,
"She is just what the comedy scene needs and should be forced upon every audience until they buckle under her spell." Frankie Boyle
"A brash French-African woman who steamrollers the audience with the power of her no-nonsense personality." Chortle
HUGE DAVIES
Huge by name, huge and funny by nature, this innovative newcomer brings his own unique take on the DIY musical comedy pioneered by the likes of David O'Doherty. Combining his confident on stage presence, dark humour, surreal material and one-of-a-kind customised keyboard, Huge has quickly risen to become one the most promising unique new acts in the UK. After co-writing and co-performing his musical Bendiana Jones and The Temple of Huge at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Huge is now currently working towards his debut solo hour.
"Jet black, funny and unsettling." Chortle
ELEANOR MORTON
Eleanor Morton is a Scottish stand-up, writer and actor. She is also a performer with the award nominated London comedy groups Weirdos and Comedian’s Cinema Club. Recently she’s become a board member of ACMS, after some more famous and successful comedians were purged. That’s how you get ahead, kids. Recently she supported Stewart Francis on his Pun Gent tour, and Frankie Boyle on his Hurt Like You’ve never Been Loved tour, impressing with her signature smart, opinionated, honest and often political comedy.
"Charmingly whimsical." The Guardian
CALLY BEATON
Cally is a natural storyteller full of intelligent, distinctive and punchline-rich material. Her act is a rollercoaster ride of anecdotes, observations and stuff even your best mate wouldn’t admit to. She has appeared on John Lloyd’s Museum of Curiosity on BBC Radio 4 and is will make her TV debut on the new series of QI this month.
“Cally Beaton is an exciting and hilarious talent, definitely one to watch. Sometimes you just know when someone’s got it – and she’s got it” Time Out
