PIERRE NOVELLIE

One of the biggest, friendliest and funniest of bears working in the UK today, Pierre's comedy is a wonderful mix of Izzard-esque surrealism, erudite scholarship and daft day-to-day observational comedy.

Pierre is a regular correspondent in BBC2’s The Mash Report hosted by Nish Kumar and performed on the most recent series of Stand Up Central on Comedy Central. He previously had a regular role in the three-part Channel 4 Comedy Blap, Outsiders, as well as appearing as a guest on Frank Skinner’s Radio 4 panel show The Rest is History.

An acclaimed live act, Pierre has supported Hal Cruttenden and Gary Delaney on their national tours and was nominated for Best Club Comic at the 2017 Chortle Awards for two years running. His previous Edinburgh shows have been well received by both audience and critics alike, with his latest show being announced as the seventh best reviewed comedy show across the entire Edinburgh Festival in 2017.

"Dawn of a major talent." Guardian

"A show packed full of belly laughs…impressively well written, perfectly building and building and rich with detail…Novellie delivers it all with real astuteness and skill." ★★★★★ The Metro

"Wry, confident observational comedy…hilarious." The Sunday Times

ANDY FIELD

Winner of the Chortle Student Comedy Award 2015, as well as finalist in the 2014 Leicester Square New Act of the Year,Andy has made an impact on the comedy scene with his unique style and fresh approach to traditional stand up.  Gloriously daft and unapologetically silly, Andy charms every audience he pops up in front of with his uniquely childish view of the world.

A regular at festivals such as Latitude, Leefest and Secret Garden Party, Andy is fast becoming a familiar face at top comedy clubs around the country. He has hosted his own webseries in the Tub, in which he interviewed up-and-coming bands in the bath (of course).

“Andy Field is a talented and silly performer who will make you laugh for an hour.” Fest

“He has a surreal outlook, a set packed full of proper punchlines and a nerdy glee in sharing it.” Chortle

KATHRYN MATHER

A relative newcomer to the circuit who is already making a big impact with her world-weary, bone dry comedy.  She's already won the prestigious Beat the Frog World Series at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester and is sure to go on to bigger and better things.

"Here black humour certainly hit a chord with the room." Chortle

SARAH BENNETTO

A charming innovator, master storyteller and brave transporter of 27 multi-coloured donkeys from London to Edinburgh via train for her show, Sarah has been delighting audiences for over a decade with tales of personal misfortune and cosmic musings.

"Sarah Bennetto is a storyteller par excellence." Time Out

ANDY BARR

A new addition to the innovative Weirdos squad who curated shows from the likes of double Edinburgh Award winner, Andy is part of a new wave of brilliantly stupid alternative comics creating big, silly comedy for 2017.  In his short time onstage he has already caught the eye of Tim Key and Harry Hill, who used him as tour support.

"Skilfully written and delivered lines...Barr's comic timing and gestures are impeccable." **** The List

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

Standing a statuesque five foot five inches high (not in heels) and weighing in at eleven stone (on a good day) Ben is the current light-middleweight contender for compering champion of North London.

"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post
