Party like a Queen on the Diamond Jubilee Weekend

 

Her Majesty's coronation took place on 2 June 1953, therefore she will be the first Monarch to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee after Queen Victoria in 1897. The main celebrations will take place from 2 to 5 June 2012 with the main proceedings occuring on Sunday 3 June. On that day there will be The Big Jubilee Lunch, organised by the Big Lunch, which is part of the Eden Project, this project encourages people to share lunch with neighbours and friends as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. To put it simple The Big Jubilee Lunch is another way to organise huge street parties all across London! On Sunday June 3rd 2012 the action will be by the River with The Thames Jubilee Peagant: up to 1,000 boats, assembled from across the UK, the Commonwealth and around the world, will sail down the Thames. The Jubilee Peagant will put together one of the largest flotilla ever assembled on the River, lead by The Queen in the Royal Barge. Toast the Queen for her Diamond Jubilee from a London pub with river views. Book a table in advance to witness a unique moment in history. Celebrations will continue in the streets till late and in several other London restaurants and bars offering Diamond Jubilee parties, themed dinners and cocktails. Diamond Jubilee Celebrations will continue on 5 June 2012 with a televised Concert from Buckingham Palace  and The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Beacons. 2,012 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, as well as the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and the Commonwealth to toast the Queen. The amazing Queen Elizabeth Jubilee weekend will end on 5 June with a Thanksgiving service in St. Paul's Cathedral and a formal carriage procession.

On Tuesday 5th June there will be a balcony wave where The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, and other Members of The Royal Family will appear on the Balcony, at which point there will be an RAF Flypast and a Feu de Joie (Fire of Joy€ - a celebratory cascade of rifle fire given as a salute by The Queen's Guard) from the Forecourt.

1. The Roof Gardens Diamond Jubilee Party - Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd June

To celebrate the Queens Jubilee weekend and The Roof Gardens 31st Birthday they have one fantastic party on the roof planned. 2. The Lamb Tavern Jubilee Street Party- 3rd June at 12pm 

To celebrate, The Lamb Tavern is hosting a traditional street party on its doorstep right by Tower Bridge, in the marketplace itself on Sunday 3rd June commencing after the royal processions. To mark this exciting milestone in British history, festivities just outside the pub will include a pop-up bar serving specially brewed Young's Jubilee Ale, live music from a Brit pop band and a great British buffet featuring all your best-loved dishes! Keeping all things British, the feast will consist of classic dishes such as Coronation Chicken and Game Pie. All of this hearty food can be enjoyed at the street party table within the market place, which is also hosting a pop-up bar where ticket-holders can wash down their meal with Young's specially brewed Jubilee Ale. 3God Save the Clam - Jubilee Weekend

A clam bake and pop up cocktail rooftop bar in London Fields is celebrating the Diamond Jubilee over the weekend starting on Friday May 31st running till 3rd June 2012. 4. Diamond Jubilee Street Party Leonard Street - hosted by The Book Club

After their success of hosting the Royal Wedding Street party in 2011, The Book Club are taking over Leonard Street in Shoreditch and throwing down what is set to be one of the biggest street parties in London for the Diamond Jubilee. Kicking off at 12pm on 3rd June 2012, you can expect live music, DJs, entertainment, beers served up by the amazing London Fields Brewery and burgers from Bukowski (pop up burger specialists). Up to 5,000 will descend to Leonard Street and toast the Queen and you can watch all the action on a big screen. Fancy dress is encourage and there will be bunting, beer, baking, bowler hats and brass bands to give it that festive feel!

This event is free but you can pick up a wristband from The Book Club for priority entrance or just show up on the day. 

5. Bourne and Hollingsworth Diamond Jubilee Street Party

Taking place in the beautiful Beford Square in London, on Sunday 3rd June, Bourne and Hollingsworth will be hosting a party for her majesty. This wonderful all-day event will bring British touches including strawberries and cream, G&T's and of course bunting and lots of flag waving! There will be live music from The Sax Pistols, Swing dancing lessons and a fully stocked bar from the Bourne and Hollingsworth team. From 12pm to dusk, this is  Diamond Jubilee party in London not to miss.

6. The Phoenix - Diamond Jubilee Street Party 

This stylish gastro pub will be throwing it's own Queen's Jubilee Street Party on Sunday 3rd June in London. There will be a BBQ, outside bars and plenty of entertainment with their royal lookalikes!
