Cocktails In The City founder Andrew Scutts dishes the delicious dirt

Signature cocktails, international names and some of the best bartenders in the business? You guessed it, Cocktails In The City has returned, but what's the craic this year, and how did it all come about it the first place? Boozing and schmoozing as ever, we had a quick chat with the event's founder, Andrew Scutts.

Cocktails In The City is a powerhouse of major players in the cocktail industry. It's crazy good fun too.

  • If you haven't been before, what is Cocktails in the City?

It’s an event that brings all the cities top bars together under one roof in beautiful venues across the UK. The next event is London on March 10 – 12 in One Mayfair, which is an epic four floor Grade I listed church.

  • What inspired you to start the event?

I’ve worked in the drinks industry for over 10 years and seen how popular cocktail master classes, tastings and pop up’s had become for bars and brands. This is the same sort of thing but on a larger scale. I now run five events throughout the year and the show will welcome 10,000 guests in 2016.

Plunder cocktails as this year's event promises to showcase some of the best names in the bizz, all under one roof.

  • What’s new for the upcoming London Show?

The big thing for me is the venue and welcoming some world-class international bars for the first time. Visitors can enjoy bars down in the Crypt, the Grand Hall, up on the Mezzanine or enjoy a Whisky Bar on the Roof. We are also bringing over Door 74 from Amsterdam and Little Red Door from Paris, two bars regularly featured in the Worlds Best Bars.

  • Anything else readers should know?

All cocktails at the show are £7.50 whether it is a five star hotel bar or east end speakeasy. We have great DJ’s, the food is good and all the bars put on a good show. We sold out last year so we advise people to book in advance.

  • How is the full line-up for London looking?

Rev JW Simpson | The Whip | Powder Keg Diplomacy | Dishoom | The Alchemist | 68 and Boston | Gaucho | Cahoots | Novikov Restaurant and Bar | Sovereign Loss | City Social | Hawksmoor Spitalfields Bar | Coq D’Argent | Looking Glass Cocktail Club | Oxo Tower | Cocktail Trading Co | Threadneedle Bar at Royal Exchange | Whisky Ginger | London Cocktail Club | Door 74 (Amsterdam) | Little Red Door (Paris).
