Description

68 and Boston is a wine and cocktail lounge nestled on Greek Street in the heart of Soho. The bar showcases an impressive selection of seasonal wines from the finest vineyards all over the world, the majority of which are priced at £20 per bottle. Why '68'? Simple - there are no less than 67 main wine producing nations around the world, and the owners want this to be the 68th destination where guests can experiment a little with the type of grape they'd usually go for.

The cocktail bar, "Boston", hidden above "68", kicks into life come nightfall. Using a diverse selection of international spirits, spices and fruits, their mixologists mix up an irresistible array of tantalising beverages for the bar's guests to gulp down. Named after the Boston Shaker, the bar has a décor inspired by the golden age of drinking. Think post-war decadence, portraits on the wall and sophisticated-cum-cool vibes, accompanied by a bespoke menu of bar food, courtesy of a neighbouring restaurant.

The venue is the brainchild of Eric Yu, Luca Cordiglieri and Martin Malley, three of the most experienced wine and bar connoisseurs in the capital. Malley is the owner of the London-based wine merchants Planets of the Grapes and has used his extensive knowledge to stock the venue full of exquisite wine, while Yu and Cordiglieri have made the most of their years running successful bars and restaurants, having been in charge of the prestigious Breakfast Group and opulent China Tang respectively.

The door staff didn't have a clue and were trying to seat people without reservations leaving me waiting for a table that was booked. We then waited 25 mins for our drinks! The bar man was great the staff on the door and girl with headphones were not effective and actually made the night a bit of a drag. Been before and it was much better the cocktails are excellent and the environment and ambience is great. Improve your door policy! Julie visited 68 and Boston on 17 Feb 2017

Had one section of the room which had a great ambiance. Right amount of noise level that made talking to people easy. The drinks were tasty. Thanks! visited 68 and Boston on 18 Feb 2017

Very poor and slow service. Our waitress could barely speak English. I had to get up and find someone to take a drinks order so there was no 'table service'. Not that impressed really. visited 68 and Boston on 17 Feb 2017

Really great place, we had a table downstairs 15 people, they switch off the speaker in our area so we could talk. Our waitress was super efficient and friendly. Thank you I will definitely go back. visited 68 and Boston on 17 Feb 2017

Hi, so this was my bday drinks with my closest friends. The experience was not as smooth as I had hoped. I pre-ordered+paid some drinks and food but I dont think everything came (we got given 1 Chorizo, 2 Burrata, 1 Calamari and 1 Olives only). Also, when the bill came at the end, my prepayment was not reflected on the bill... Appreciate it was a busy Fri night but just did get the impression that things were organised. visited 68 and Boston on 17 Feb 2017

Lovely bar, great service. Slightly sad they add service to the bill, never been a fan of that but thats more a gripe than a criticism. visited 68 and Boston on 15 Feb 2017

Really helpful staff made the reservation a very easy process as my group size changed a number of times. Good table and a great atmosphrere. Very friendly service with both food and drinks coming quickly even though it was a busy Friday night. Will be back again! Nikki visited 68 and Boston on 10 Feb 2017

I was very impressed to have a last minute booking accepted for a Friday night table in 68 and Boston's cocktail bar area. However my main critiscms are the choice of cocktails - call me fussy but I would have expected a wider choice. Also the staff weren't very attentive so ordering drinks and paying all took too long. visited 68 and Boston on 03 Feb 2017

Great venue! Was my first time visiting, and they gave me a courtesy call during the day just to confirm my reservation and table. Table was great and the music wasn't too loud. A lot of cocktail bars have music so loud that you can't speak to the people you are with. Would defo visit again. Bartenders special on menu is a great idea, More bars should do the same. visited 68 and Boston on 04 Feb 2017

Really like this bar - particularly that all bottles of wine are priced the same at £20 each, which is a great way of trying new and different wines even when on a budget. Also really like that you can book a table even for drinks. The cocktails upstairs are also excellent! Jess visited 68 and Boston on 19 Oct 2016

Great service, warm and welcoming and excellent choice of wines. Will definitely return. I chose the option of having 3 different small glasses of wine for 12 pounds, which was a great way to decide what to have next. Kelly visited 68 and Boston on 28 Dec 2016

Really lovely cocktail bar, the most attentive staff cant fault them. The cocktails were made well and not absurdly priced. Only minor negative would be the music was louder than it needed to be upstairs for a sit down bar. Other than that minor thing it was amazing the decoration and dim lighting gave it an intimate feel. Jvblack visited 68 and Boston on 12 Aug 2016

Can't recommend this place enough, wonderful atmosphere, no matter the time of day. Absurdly polite and attentive staff and the wine they offer is delightful not to mention incredibly priced

Perfect for date night this place really knows how to do cocktails and wine justice. Depending on what you're looking for, you can settle into both bars with ease and enjoy the intimate vibes. Squid Ink cocktail is a bit left field but commend them for creativity!

Booked a table upstairs on a Saturday evening for two and had a nice area in a room that was just off the main bit which was perfect as there was only two of us we wern't over powered by the music! Service was fantastic, a waitress looked after us very well. Will be returning to try the wine bar downstairs! Alice visited 68 and Boston on 21 Nov 2015

Potential new favourite. I was getting a bit tired of the same old haunts in Soho, so we checked Design My Night for something new. 68 and Boston has good music, great drinks and excellent bartenders. We sat at the bar and spent much of the night chatting to Des and Mous who were a lot of fun. Will be back for sure.

Went to the launch of Boston to sample its cocktails last night - would highly recommend Dazed and Confused! Also got a chance to check out the wine bar, 68. Every bottle in £20 and are sourced from all over the globe!
