Comedy night

We are excited to present you a comedy night in support of Young Epilepsy at Cafe 1001.

The line up of comedians include:

Special P is known for his observational humour and uses unique expressions and body language from the offset to engage and captivate his audience. He has a cheeky wit and charm with the ladies and gives the guys side ripping lines to take home, hence the name ‘Naughty but Nice’. It is very rare to find a comedian with such adaptability to cover a wide range of material. He covers subjects from relationships to politics and social behaviour both home and abroad.

A resident host of Comedy Virgins at the Cavendish Armsand also angel comedy at the world famous Bill Murray pub. He has most recently supported Lauren Pattison. Joel Dommett described him as 'one of my favourite new acts'. And Nish Kumar called his comedy 'hilarious and original'. (Lovely quotes from some up-and-coming lads).

André De Freitas

André has performed in portugal, england, spain, france, monaco, luxembourg, scotland and the usa. André is the first portuguese comedian to perform in a fully billed stand up show at the edinburgh fringe festival as well as being the first portuguese act to perform in a number of clubs and venues around the uk. He started his path in the performing arts at the age of 15 when he first enrolled at the escola profissional de teatro (professional drama school) in the greater lisbon area. having finished his stint in the school, at 17, he decided to try stand up for the first time at a local open mic. this led to some success in the local comedy scene and andre performed in venues across portugal and had tv appearances in networks like +tvi, sic radical and a secondary role in the feature film sete pecados rurais. deciding that he wanted some new challenges he moved to london in 2016 - via the usa, where he had the chance to perform in baltimore and several other places in the los angeles area. Currently residing in London, André regularly performs in clubs like the top secret comedy club, the stand comedy club, the comedy cafe, glee, backyard comedy club, and angel comedy club, among many others. Having just finished his first international tour which took him to France, Monaco, Portugal, Scotland and around the uk he continues to perform in comedy clubs and theatres around the uk and Europe. Andre has supported rui sinel de cordes on his sold out tour around portugal, opened for ed byrne in london and opened for us comic tom rhodes.

Leo also acts, playing Mick Fleetwood in the ITV drama "Breaking The Band: Fleetwood Mac" and a lead role in the computer game “Super Seducer 2”. He's been on ITV Dinner Date (and won), Sky All Out Politics, Question Time Extra Time, BBC Daily Politics, Al Jazeera and BBC2's Funny Business. His comedy shorts include a Star Wars spoof video that’s had half a million views, and a "Stand up on the tube" stunt that got him in the Mail and Metro and was shared on Ladbible. He has appeared in adverts for Dulcolax and Whiskas. Leo was a backing dancer for a David Icke conspiracy theory lecture at Wembley Arena.

Leighton Roff

Leighton is from north London . He is a Jewish , Autistic comedian who is a regular on the London comedy circuit! Leighton started his comedy career with the London SYC( soho young company) and Despite having only been going a year he has started to build up a reputation for his no filter, un predictable , abstract, chaotic approach to comedy ! He has beaten the gong at many gong shows including the comedy store in Manchester and performed alongside many star names including Jeff Garlin from curb your enthusiasm! Leighton is a very endearing and likeable presence and adds a unique voice to the bill!

To date, he has already appeared on television and radio, including Yanga TV, Pulse88 FM and BBC Radio. Also he has performed at some of the top comedy clubs including Downstairs at the King's Head and the Comedy Store.

As a writer and performer, he is anecdotal, ironic, mordant, satirical and situational, making sharp progress in a short career on both the urban and mainstream circuits, having performed in comedy clubs, universities and theatres across London, nationally and internationally.

Mike Sheer

Lateef Lovejoy

Lateef is multi-talented Actor, Stand Up Comedian, and Creator. He is also one of the most distinctive acts on both the black, mainstream and  International Comedy circuits and has been an International headliner in countries such as the US, Belgium,  Nigeria, Jersey,  Sweden, Norway, and South Africa.

As an Actor, Lateef has a string of Feature Film, TV, Radio and Theatre credits both in the UK and internationally and has recently just completed writing, starring, and producing his own comedy sketch show pilot "HeSaidSheSaid".

Lateef has achieved great commercial success too, being selected as the new face of the ITV Hub and was head hunted to be the official commercial mascot for major energy brand U Switch, playing the role of 'Coach' seen across TV and all major digital platforms;  the commercial has already amassed over 5 million views on YouTube.
