What we say:

This venue has now closed.

Chef Peter Weeden, whose prior endeavours have seen him at Boundary and Paternoster Chop house, will be cutting the rope at Newman Street tavern on November 30th. Expect such classic dishes as Cornish fish soup, grilled Galloway wing rib, and Banbury cakes. There will also be a ground floor ‘raw bar’ that will offer a selection of oysters and crustaceans.

The drinks available will be classic cocktails such as Martinis, sours, bloody marys etc. Beers will change through the seasons with darker, richer, maltier ales in the winter and in the summer more hoppy and aromatic beers. Wines will be selected to perfectly match the traditional British menu.

Not only will Newman Street Tavern use the very best local produce from across the UK but they will mature, hang, butcher and dry-age some of the meat themselves. Features like this always attract a very traditional and no-frills foodie crowd so expect to share the room with knowledgeable lovers of British food, wine and beer.
