The Savoy's Erik Lorincz Launches Cocktail Bar Kwānt Underneath Mayfair's Momo

Momo’s had one heck of a year, after a swish new revamp and a series of rave reviews, the Mayfair restaurant has now announced a new bar will open downstairs. Kwānt (pronounced quaint) will be headed up by cocktail polymath Erik Lorincz, who previously made a name for himself at the Savoy’s American Bar.

The cocktail bar and lounge will take inspiration from the 19th Century and boast tropical decor, reminiscent of an eccentric gentleman’s drawing room. Kwānt will also reference African culture to tie in with the restaurant upstairs, while pairing it with chesterfield sofas and wooden panelling.

Drink-wise the bar will offer a selection of 24 drinks, with five non-alcoholic options too. Signature creations include the bar’s namesake, Kwānt made with Roku gin, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice and matcha tea served from tap. There’s also the Stafilia with Metaxa 12 years old with fermented grape cordial, clear apple and soda water, alongside the Santiago, made with Matusalem Gran Reserva Rum 15 years old, stirred with Muyu Chinotto Nero, coffee aroma and coconut water. With these in mind, and the selection of vintage classics, it seems Kwānt will be an essential voyage for London’s cocktail-lovers.
