Sometimes nature’s tastiest secrets are growing right in front of you in places you would never expect. These are the secrets Shane Harrison, founder of Shane’s on Canalside, would like to share with you on this urban foraging adventure.
New Zealander Shane specialises in wild, foraged and seasonal produce at his restaurant Shane's on Canalside in Hackney, London. You are invited to join him and Edna the British Bull Dog, foraging in Hackney Marshes, followed by a wild tasting experience.
Wild meats and foraged ingredients will be on show to tempt your taste buds and show you the abundance of the English country side.
You’ll start with an introduction to the ‘rules’ of urban foraging that help keep you safe and respectful of the environment. Then you will enjoy a stroll through the local woods, along the canal and through the Hackney Marshes, as you collect seasonal plants along the way.
The foraging session is normally priced at £85, however with this Priceless Cities experience, you will not only forage in the hidden urban Hackney Marshes but also enjoy bubbles and a tasting menu of wild meats and foraging produce.
