Our Review Of The Delphine In Glasgow: A Buzzing Cocktail Bar And Restaurant On Princes Square

There have been a number of excellent new restaurants in Glasgow this year, and one that I was eager to try is this new, all-day cafe-cocktail bar that opened in August 2025. At the heart of The Delphine is Head Chef Kenny Maltman, whose vision is to create a “vibrant sanctuary” where the menu reflects the joy of summer, even on Glasgow’s cooler days (which let’s be honest, is most of them). Maltman’s approach is globally inspired but approachable, balancing bright, fresh flavours with a few indulgent touches.

DesignMyNight’s Review Of The Delphine Glasgow

Tucked away in the elegant courtyard of Princes Square, The Delphine immediately feels like a stylish retreat from the bustle of Buchanan Street. It's a warm escape in winter and the interior is striking without being fussy. Velvet seating in pistachio greens, warm timber accents, terrazzo counters, and subtle striped fabrics give the space a modern, Instagram-worthy aesthetic. By evening, the venue transforms into a lively, energetic spot with loud, upbeat music, perfect for a girls’ night or a catch-up over drinks. So, if you are on the lookout for something a little extra, this is your spot.

We started with the ciabatta and focaccia with oil & balsamic dip (£5.50), a simple yet satisfying way to ease into the meal. The warm artisan bread was perfectly baked, pairing beautifully with the rich olive oil and tangy balsamic. Following that, the spicy paprika hummus and flatbread (£8) and crispy cauliflower bites (£9) showcased Maltman’s style: fresh, crisp, and full of flavour.

Burger and small plates at The Delphine Glasgow.

The Delphine menu spans both small plates and hearty mains.

For mains, the chicken fajita wrap (£16) was a standout, with spicy chicken, charred peppers and onions, creamy guacamole, peri-peri mayo and skinny fries hearty but balanced. One of those options you can enjoy and not feel the heaviness of a big meal, especially on a night out. The Delphine cheese and bacon burger (£18) offered juicy smashed beef patties with melted American cheese, crispy bacon, and a toasted milk bun, alongside perfectly cooked fries. Each dish delivered both bold flavours and satisfying, indulgent textures.

Drinks are equally considered, led by Group Bar Manager Ewan Angus, who has curated a menu that blends playful cocktails with more classic evening serves. We tried a No’Go Spritz (£8) - a refreshing mix of elderflower, non-alcoholic prosecco and soda - which perfectly complemented the food and the energy of the venue. By night, the music ramps up and the space hums with Saturday-night buzz, making it lively and social while still stylish. It was the perfect mix between being able to catch up with a friend without having to shout over the music: our kind of date.

Both cocktails and mocktails are on the cards here.

Service was impressively quick, friendly, and attentive, seamlessly keeping up with the high energy without ever feeling rushed. The combination of Chef Maltman’s hearty menu, aesthetic interiors and the laid-back atmosphere that becomes upbeat as the sun goes down makes makes The Delphine a spot that works from brunch through to late-night cocktails.

Overall: The Delphine

In short, The Delphine is a rare find in Glasgow: a space where design, food, and atmosphere come together perfectly. Whether you’re enjoying warm artisan bread to start, a crispy cauliflower dish, a hearty wrap or indulgent burger, or catching up over a sparkling spritz or cocktail, it’s a venue that leaves you feeling stylish, satisfied, and energised. We’d certainly recommend, and will most definitely be re-visiting this Glasgow gem - especially when it’s freezing outside and The Delphine is serving warming plates and vibrant energy.
