Oran Mor

  • Why we recommend: this is possibly the most unique venue on our list, found in a former church that has been beautifully restored to create an Instagram-worthy bar and club

Housed in a striking church that has been transformed into a party palace, Oran Mor is a real gem in the West End. It features two bars, two restaurants, a nightclub and events space, opening late seven nights a week.

The building has been carefully restored, still featuring traditional stone walls and dark wooden fixtures, as well as gorgeous stained glass windows. Expect guest and resident DJs, guaranteed to get you on the dancefloor.

Sub Club

While at first glance it may appear to be a little basement room, Sub Club Glasgow is renowned across the UK for its raucous nights out. Expect a load of top DJs taking to the decks and regular themed events, with special guests to look out for.

Having been around since 1987, it's one of the longest running underground dance clubs in the whole world, so it's well worth checking out.

Arta

Arta is a bit of a jack of all trades - and it masters all of them. This Merchant City spot is Mediterranean-themed, with a stunning bar and restaurant to chill out in, while Club Canvas heats up on the weekend.

They host live music and DJs on Saturday nights, and their unique spaces can also be used to host private parties for any occasion. There's plenty of entertainment in the main bar throughout the week too.

Polo Lounge & Riding Rooms

Open seven days a week for late-night shenanigans, Polo Lounge & Riding Rooms is an LGBTQ+-friendly club in Merchant City. Expect a variety of delicious cocktails from the bar, as well as a regular lineup of entertainment.

We're talking burlesque and cabaret, live gigs and even magicians wowing you on stage, before you spend the rest of the night on the dancefloor.

Enish Restaurant & Lounge

A multi-purpose destination that acts as a Nigerian restaurant, bar, shisha lounge, event space and nightclub all in one, Enish Restaurant & Lounge is an excellent pick for special occasions.

They're open until 3am five nights a week, serving classic Scottish drinks as you head to the dancefloor. Whether you're relaxing in the shisha room or singing karaoke in your own private space, you won't be short of entertainment.

Popworld Glasgow

  • Why we recommend: there's nowhere better to be than Popworld if you love dancing the night away to cheesy tunes

Popworld has made quite the name for itself as one of the best nightclubs in Glasgow's city centre. Pop over for cheesy, retro tunes from the 80s, 90s and 00s, as well as cracking drinks deals.

This quirky joint is as colourful as they come, with unique artworks lining the walls, a vibrant, striped DJ booth and multiple disco balls.

Revolution Glasgow

Buff Club

Found underneath it's sister venue The Butterfly and the Pig, Buff Club is a real gem among the cobbles and glittering fairy lights of Glasgow's Bath Lane. It's got a large outdoor area and a quirky interior, attracting a real mixed crowd.

The Berkeley Suite

SWG3

SWG3 is easily one of the best nightclubs in Glasgow's West End. They're known for hosting gigs, alongside regular club nights, and there's aways something new to look forward to.

This versatile space has seen everything from international DJs to offbeat art installations, as well as sizzling summer parties in the warmer months, so you know you can always expect an epic event here.

Nice 'N' Sleazy

Nice 'N' Sleazy is a pleasure palace of affordable liquid refreshments, boisterous beats and a party atmosphere unlike all others. Expect a roster of house and guest DJs pumping out a healthy blend of dance tunes, with the occasional bout of soul and new wave.

Their varied events range from early evening gigs to vinyl open deck nights, some of which are even free to enter.

La Cheetah

A pumping underground club, La Cheetah is located in the downstairs basement of Max's in Merchant City. Showcasing a rave-worthy blend of electro, house and techno, this is a fuss-free venue where the music speaks for itself.

They're open Wednesday to Sunday every week, with all sorts of themed nights to check out too - which are all very affordable to buy tickets for.

Bamboo

Bamboo is one of the best clubs in Glasgow for students. Revellers flock from afar for cheap, heady drinks, cracking tunes and a rollicking party in slick surrounds.

As for the music, expect a mix of hip hop, RnB, electro and indie. If you fancy a slightly more refined night out, it's also got a classy cocktail lounge and booths that you can relax in.

The Garage

The Garage is a hedonistic haven of lush drinks and raucous parties, and yes there is even the odd bouncy castle. It's a pretty versatile space, with six different rooms to choose from in a unique layout.

With something on every day of the week, this student favourite draws undergrad revellers in their droves for knockdown prices, quirky happenings and wicked club nights.
