Roll like a pro- sushi schools are back! Join us in our weekly sushi making schools where you’ll learn about the history of sushi, the delicious ingredients used, knife cutting skills, and- of course- how to roll your very own sushi!

Here at YO! we’ve been rolling sushi for over 20 years- so by now we know our Tataki from our Temaki- and we want to bring our knowledge to you! We believe in quality ingredients, fresh flavours and authentic Japanese food, and we’re on a mission to create a nation of sushi lovers like us!

These classes are perfect for any budding sushi chefs out there, so whether you’re a Maki Master or Inari newbie you’ll pick up some great new skills to take home- as well as a delicious selection of sushi to enjoy. Our classes last around two hours with full instruction from a YO! sushi master who will guide you every step of the way. You’ll be in a group with other class-goers so you’ll get to enjoy the experience together and you’ll have the option to tuck into your creations at the end, or pack them up to enjoy later!

Your menu will look like:

Salmon Sashimi slice/Inari to taste

Salmon Nigiri/Inari Nigiri

Cucumber Maki

Crunchy Cali Roll/Kyoto Garden Roll

YO! Sushi
We burst onto the restaurant scene in 1997, when we shook up London's Soho and showed the UK a new way of eating. Part of that was the 'kaiten' conveyor belt and colour-coded dishes which made our name. We still believe in eating in colour. Fast forward to today and we have close to 100 restaurants all over the planet. If we had a middle name, it'd be 'fresh'. We serve all our dishes on the day we make them. And you might even be able to watch yours being created by our chefs in our open kitchens.

YO! Brighton

Situated in the North Laines, this seaside outpost of the popular sushi spot is within walking distance of the pier, Victoria Gardens and the Royal Pavillion. Check out YO! Brighton for industrial decor and booths alongside the recognisable conveyor belt that delivers dishes fresh from the kitchen…

We had a brilliant time at the sushi school in Bromley - Adam was really friendly and knowledgable and taught us techniques in an easy and fun way. We didn’t feel rushed at all and had plenty of time to practise our new skills and enjoy eating what we had made! I also thought it was very good value for money considering the amount of food we made and the extra dishes and drink which were included in the price. I would definitely recommend and would love to do it again!

The evening was really fun and enjoyable. We made maki, uramaki, teramaki and nagiri. It could have been improved in a couple of ways. The format of the session could been improved as the first 30minutes we watched the chef prepare a piece of salmon which was a little boring. It would be great if whilst he did this you maybe made the nagiri. The music was too loud and when coupled with how fast the chef spoke it could be difficult for a non native English speaker to follow. Also it would be nice to be provided with an info after as there was a lot of information about sushi seasoning and which rice/nori to buy but it is hard to remember after the session. A little tips and tricks sheet sent after would be great too. Great class and would recommend.
