Championing the city's food scene, Aktar Islam has transformed this canal-side eatery into a go-to for Italian food, with the opening of his Summer Row restaurant Opheem following closely behind. Watch the chefs work their magic with a view of the kitchen as you dine inside, or relax at a table by the water, where speckled grey tables complement white wicker-style chairs. Taking over the space which was FKS Steakhouse, Mi Amore introduces a modern menu with a focus on authentic and hearty Italian food. Go for cicchetti (small plates), risotto, pizza, pasta, grilled specialities and meaty mains.

Chef Aktar Islam has taken to the kitchen, creating a plethora of Italian dishes, already garnering praise for his use of fresh ingredients. After winning Gordon Ramsay's The F Word and BBC's Great British Menu, the Brum native has turned his hand to this unique menu, as offerings like the Risotto alla Salsiccia al Finocchio (fennel sausage risotto) and Torta al Limone; (Amalfi lemon curd tart) are set to be firm favourites. With culinary input from Birmingham's restaurant royalty and a beautiful location by the water, Mi Amore could be a local hit.
