The team behind iconic Birmingham institute Snobs are set to open a high-end bar, restaurant and entertainment venue on Colmore Row.
Theatrix will be located in the former home of city centre eatery Jailbird, which closed at the start of the year. Work has already begun to transform the Grade II listed Victorian bank, with the interiors allegededly paying homage to the building's heritage, whilst also giving the space a ‘Theatrix twist’.
Although owned by the same people behind the well-loved venue Snobs, the similarities between the two bars will pretty much end there. Owner Wayne Tracey hopes that Theatrix will cater to city professionals, with a high-end, luxury feel. The space will consist of a relaxed all-day bar and restaurant on the ground floor, and a buzzing late-night venue upstairs.
Tracey also noted that the new spot will play host to a range of local artists with regular free live music, as well as having themed nights to mark special occasions such as St Patrick’s Day and Oktoberfest.
