Annandale Distillery Unveils World-First Net-Zero Whisky Tour 


Whisky enthusiasts and history buffs are invited to a truly unique experience this summer as Annandale Distillery launches the exclusive new Owners Tour. This special event celebrates a decade of resurrected whisky production and marks a revolutionary step towards a sustainable future with the installation of a world-first net-zero boiler.


Join Professor David Thomson, the visionary behind Annandale Distillery's rebirth, for a personal and in-depth journey through the past, present, and future of this historic establishment. After lying dormant for nearly a century, Professor Thomson's passion and dedication have not only revived the distillery but are now propelling it to the forefront of innovation in the whisky industry.

In a landmark collaboration with EXERGY3, Annandale Distillery has installed a groundbreaking boiler, a world-first that will allow for the production of a net-zero whisky. This pioneering technology is a cornerstone of the distillery's commitment to reducing emissions and crafting a world-class spirit with a minimal environmental footprint.


The new Owners Tour offers an unparalleled opportunity to hear the remarkable story of Annandale directly from Professor Thomson. He will recount the distillery's history, its meticulous restoration, and the creation of its signature whiskies, the peated Man O'Sword and the unpeated Man O'Words. Guests will also receive a detailed explanation of the new, sustainable production process powered by the innovative Exergy3 boiler.

This exclusive experience begins with a delectable two-course afternoon tea in the charming Maltings Coffee Shop. Following this, Professor Thomson will lead a private tour, delving into the preserved legacy and character of the distillery. A highlight of the tour is a visit to the old bonded warehouse, where guests will be treated to a special tasting of a selection of Single Cask Single Malts at Cask Strength, personally guided by the Professor.

    We had a lovely afternoon at the distillery. The staff were friendly and informative and there was a nice atmosphere. The whisky is amazing, I mean WOW! I was floating in the clouds! lol. My partner bought me a bottle to take home, a lovely reminder of our visit. The cafe is nicely presented and we had coffee and cakes; delicious. We highly recommend Annandale Distillery.
