The Peacock at Rowsley

Enjoy our 8 course Tasting menu on Saturday's for £75 per person.

A luxury hotel and pub in the heart of the Peak District, The Peacock at Rowsley began as a manor house in the 1600s. There are fifteen bespoke bedrooms and an award-winning fine dining restaurant on site, as well as a beautiful garden that faces the river.

Take a seat in their comfy dining space to enjoy the likes of Derbyshire sirloin steak, baked potatoes with teriyaki mushrooms or herb-fed chicken. Plus, they serve Sunday lunches and even afternoon tea.

The Maynard

Nestled within the Peak District National Park, The Maynard is a contemporary, sophisticated pub that welcomes locals and tourists alike. Expect a relaxed, welcoming setting that features plush leather seating, traditional wooden furniture and lots of pretty plants.

Sip a refreshing pint or glass of wine, and be sure to check out their food menu too. We're talking barbecue beef brisket burgers, mezze sharing platters, venison ravioli and more - including breakfast and afternoon tea.

The Peacock at Owler Bar

The Peacock at Owler Bar is a popular stop for locals and those travelling around the country, having been around since the early 19th century. It was originally a coaching inn and tollhouse, and the Grade II-listed building maintains much of its original charm to this day.

You can enjoy local ales, roast dinner or even afternoon tea here. As for the main menu, expect everything from barbecue beef brisket burgers to tandoori monkfish and pappardelle with truffled wild mushrooms.

The George

The George, owned by the independent hospitality group Longbow Venues, celebrates its deep connection to the Peak District. Nestled in Hathersage, this delightful gastro pub blends exposed stone and beams to reflect its historic roots, offering an inviting atmosphere.

Serving up the flavours of the region, The George is stocked with locally sourced ingredients, craft beers, Derbyshire gins, and more. The menu, designed by Executive Chef Adrian Gagea and Head Chef James Heywood, offers a fresh take on pub classics, featuring beef short ribs glazed with pomegranate molasses, lamb with a parmesan-rosemary crust, and venison and chorizo burgers.

The Ashford Arms

Found in the beautiful Peak District village of Ashford in the Water is its namesake pub - The Ashford Arms. Found only a couple of miles from Bakewell, it's a great place to be whether you're after a post-ramble pint, somewhere to stay or a hearty pub meal.

Home to log burners and exposed stone, as well as modern finishes, The Ashford Arms strikes the perfect balance between traditional and up to date. Pair fine wines and local ales with pheasant crown with blackberry and blue cheese mousse wrapped in pancetta, beer-battered fish and chips served alongside triple-cooked chips, and different cuts of steak. They even serve afternoon tea.

The Duncombe Arms

If you're looking for delicious pub food, a serene atmosphere and an overnight stay all in one, then you've come to the right place. Tucked away in the sleepy village of Ellastone on the Staffordshire - Derbyshire border, The Duncombe Arms is one of the Peak District's true treasures.

This 1850s inn manages that rare balancing act: all the warmth and character of a country pub, paired with the finesse of a top-tier restaurant. Inside, you'll find exposed beams, crackling log burners and rustic-chic touches throughout, while the garden outside opens onto sweeping views of the Dove Valley. Head Chef Scott Law's Michelin Bib Gourmand-winning menu champions seasonal, locally sourced produce. With a well-curated wine list and ten boutique bedrooms in the stylish Walnut House, this is the sort of pub you'll want to make your Peak District base.
