Anna Incontro Quartet

Anna Incontro (singer) with her band (Matteo Bisbano on piano, Ezekiel Ajie on double bass and Finn Genockey on drum), presents an innovative jazz repertoire, including original compositions and some of the most famous Italian songs in a jazz key.

Anna Incontro, originally from Sicily, is an Italian singer, songwriter, pianist and music teacher, with a first-class master’s degree in Jazz Singing.

After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Sicily and her Master’s degree in Jazz Voice at Music Conservatory "Santa Cecilia" in Rome, Anna spent another year in the same country, training people with Asperger as assistant of her Jazz Voice Teacher Carla Marcotulli.

She directs a choir and a band in Sicily and has produced a Praise & Worship Album in 2019 which toured in and outside Italy, and another Album knows as “Fede & Guantoni”, where she combines jazz and R&B with an Italian rapper.

In Summer 2018 she is selected to take part in Berklee Summer School at Umbria Jazz Clinics in Perugia, Italy, chosen for solo parts during some important events, studying with Dennis Montgomery, Jeff Ramsey, Eleonora Bianchini and many others.

From 2017 to 2020 she was one of the solo singer and chorister for the JD Choir in Rome (where she studied), often performing in the Auditorium Parco della Musica; she has participated in the New Talent Jazz Orchestra conducted by Mario Corvini in “Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concert”, as soloist in the Tribute to Kenny Wheeler with Stefano Cantarano ensemble, as chorister and leader of alto ensemble to Matthew Herbert’s Brexit Big Band, with relative recording of the Album “Where’s Home” in the same occasion.

In March 2020, after having published her single “From the End to the Start”, Anna moved to London, as vocal coach and musical director.

She is currently a Music Teacher at Haberdashers’ School, while she performs as band leader and singer in different venues around London, offering a wide repertoire of Jazz standards, Fusion, R&B, both in English and in Italian language.

Matteo Bisbano (piano), has performed as a pianist soloist, duo, trio and others jazz formations and took part of the "Piano piano per Sulmona" Festival in three editions (in 2015,2017 and 2018) with the "Jazz tale" duo with Alice Vedilei (voice) and with the Matteo Bisbano Trio.

From 2013 to 2017 Matteo was the pianist of the Santino Spinelli's "Alexian Group" and performed with the Alexian Group in different places like Porto Torres, Rome, L'Aquila, Pisa, Pescara, Cagliari, Milan, Palermo. The Group played for some Tv channels like Tv2000, TeleMax, Rete4. In 2015 the Alexian Group performed in the City of the Vatican State before the Pope.

In 2002 released released "Metalkinfe" with the label Convivium Records, his piano solo project.

Ezekiel Ajie (double bass) is a double bassist/Electric bassist from West London who has a passion for playing Jazz, RnB, Gospel and Latin music. He has a enigmatic, high energy and playful style which heavily rooted his West African and Caribbean heritage. He has played with young rising stars such as Ava Joseph, Anjelo Dison, Asa Martinson and Roella Oloro to name a few. When he’s not gigging his mentoring musicians at The World Heartbeat music academy. A place dedicated to nurturing young talent.

Ezekiel... or Zeeks as everyone calls him will now be showcasing his talents with the wonderful and exceptional Anna Incontro.

Finn Genockey (drum) is a drummer, composer and vibraphonist from London currently studying in his second year at the Guildhall School of Music. Since starting drums at the age of 6, Finn has had plenty of experience performing at some of the country’s top jazz venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and Pizza Express Soho as well as across the world in places such as Germany, France and the Caribbean. He also regularly writes music for the ensembles he runs - including his own 20-piece Jazz Orchestra - and can be heard on a wide variety of recordings from Emma Rawicz’s debut album: “Incantation” to Orla Gartland’s hit single: “I Go Crazy”.
