Who'd have thought one of the best places to drink in the UK would be a former bog on Surrey Street? Sheffield basement bar Public has scooped numerous accolades since its opening thanks to an astoundingly clever and delicious cocktail menu that puts focus on locality and sustainability above all.

Among the best bars on Ecclesall Road, Monk is a must-visit for cocktail connoisseurs. As well as nailing those classic concoctions time and time again, the bartenders here can also whip up an enticing array of signature sips, including bakewell tart and banoffee pie-inspired numbers.

This gorgeous Kelham Island cocktail spot is one of the city's favourite watering holes. Made entirely out of shipping containers, INC is a Sheffield rooftop bar fronting an array of delicious cocktails, including a range of classics and a dedicated menu of fruity bellinis.

Popular with Sheffield's student contingent, The Wick At Both Ends has a reputation for serving up some incredible (albeit absurd) items across both their food and drinks menus. Their cocktails focus on the fun and fanciful, with sips inspired by everything from sweets and cereal to tropical summers. And to soak it up, how about a full English breakfast pizza?

While this West One Plaza party palace has had a street food makeover in recent months, that hasn't stopped its cocktails from being some of the best around. With options to suit each of the cuisines on offer, their drinks list runs from the usual suspects to some much less traditional options.

An island paradise in the heart of the city, Bamboo Door is one of the best places for cocktails in Sheffield. Sweet, fruity and affordable, the drinks here come laced with tropical spirits and served with style in quirky tiki cups, and if you head down at happy hour, you can score sips for as little as £6.
