In need of a little dining inspiration? Whether you're searching for a romantic date spot or a fun place to eat with your friends, this city is filled with endless options. From laid-back Indian fare to fully-loaded vegan burgers and Michelin starred tasting menus, here's our list of the best restaurants in Nottingham.

Pizza Pilgrims Nottingham

The Quick Pilgrimage £25 per person and 3 other offers

Looking for authentic Neapolitan pizzas with some seriously delicious toppings? Then head to Pizza Pilgrims in the Hockley area, where you'll find all that and more. This venue is colourful, quirky and friendly, even boasting a unique private dining space upstairs.

Dig into cheesy slices topped with everything from mushroom and truffle to double pepperoni and hot honey, alongside small plates such as cacio e pepe balls. Their Nutella pizza ring dessert is not to be missed either, and the cocktails are a must-try.

The Pudding Pantry Sherwood

If you're a fan of all things brunch, head to The Pudding Pantry in in Sherwood, Beeston or the city centre. These cosy locations combine the warm atmosphere of a local cafe with the incredible homemade food of a neighbourhood restaurant.

Get stuck into everything from buttermilk chicken brioche to nduja and chorizo hash or build-your-own pancakes. They also offer an affordable afternoon tea, available every day.

Piccalilli

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the city, Piccalilli is the epitome of a hidden gem. All exposed brickwork, dried flowers and an intimate dining room, it's cosy and sophisticated in equal measure.

The menu of seasonal small plates focuses on nostalgic classics - think smoked beetroot with walnuts, roast venison with blackberry ketchup, and potato dumplings with Gruyere. It's little wonder this place has a coveted MICHELIN Bib Gourmand among its many accolades.

Canalhouse

Nestled in prime position near the waterfront, The Canalhouse occupies the lower floors of the former museum. Expect industrial interiors complete with resident narrowboats and a menu of international dishes, as well as a vast range of beers.

Iberico World Tapas

Found within a Grade II listed building underneath the historic Lace Market, Iberico World Tapas is the original tapas spot in Nottingham. They've held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2013, a sign of their great quality and value food.

Take a seat in their warmly lit restaurant for tasty plates like monkfish schnitzel, soy-braised ox cheek and Spanish cheese boards. Plus, they've got a carefully curated wine list to pair with it.

Kushi Ya

A relaxed, izakaya-style Japanese restaurant in the city centre, Kushi Ya is an independent spot for quality eats. Its name literally translates to 'skewer shop', and they specialise in small plates and skewers cooked over charcoal on a specially imported Japanese grill.

There's a large main dining space, as well as a sunny outdoor seating area for the summer months. Tuck into the likes of soy-braised pork shoulder, crispy Jerusalem artichokes and prawn katsu sandos, washed down with sake, cocktails or whisky.

Raymond's

Nestled in the historic Lace Market, Raymond's nails modern dining without ever trying too hard. This stylish spot is all about sharing plates, counter seating, and moody lighting.

Start with the addictive fish crackling or Maldon rock oysters, then move on to inventive dishes like heritage carrots with horseradish crème fraîche, Cornish sole with smoked beurre blanc, or a perfectly cooked salt-aged pork chop. The wine list is just as thoughtfully curated, offering plenty by the glass to mix and match as you go.

Restaurant Sat Bains

Equally inventive and indulgent, Restaurant Sat Bains is a Michelin-starred Nottingham institution. Serving up tasting menus focusing on seasonality, balance and bold technique, every plate is truly a labour of love.

Expect dishes like smoked eel with apple and turnip, wild duck with blackberry and nasturtium, and a Savarin pudding paired with its signature RSB Cuvée. Add an out-of-this-world wine service and this is much more than a meal - its a culinary experience you won't forget.
