NQ64 Newcastle

Looking for something a little different to do with your other half? Then head to NQ64 on Valentine's Day for some flirty competition. This quirky activity bar can be found on Pilgrim Street in the city centre, decked out in neon graffiti and dark furnishings.

Discover their 31 different retro arcade games, two pinball machines and eight old-school consoles. Offering everything from Time Crisis to Guitar Hero and Pacman, you won't be short of entertainment here. Plus, they serve themed cocktails like the Aku Aku Fruit Punch or a Jack Daniels and Dr Pepper-based Dr Ro Bev Nik.

Chaophraya Newcastle

One of the best places for Valentine's Day in Newcastle city centre, Chaophraya is the place for delicious Thai dining. This stunning rooftop destination is bringing you flavourful, romantic meals for wooing a date, with a special Valentine's menu from the 13th to the 16th of February.

This year, their menu is themed around the White Lotus, offering three luxurious courses that will celebrate your love. Dig into tamarind roast duck, royal lamb massaman and more, with their spectacular white chocolate bombe dessert to finish.

Four Quarters Newcastle

Bored of all the usual Valentine's Day ideas? Then head to Four Quarters on Dean Street, their first bar to open in the North. The two-storey venue features a range of nostalgic gaming options, from retro arcade machines to video games consoles offering the original Mario Kart.

Battle it out at all kinds of fun activities, while sipping on locally brewed beers or themed signature cocktails. What's more, they offer delicious pizzas here as well.

Lola Jeans

A romantic spot for a meal on the 14th, Lola Jeans is a stunning restaurant bar on Market Street in the city centre. The interiors combine vintage furnishings with quirky modern touches, promising floral armchairs, pink velvet booths and dark panelled walls.

They've won Battle of the Burger for five years in a row, with signature dishes including the bourbon and bacon jam-topped Baby Got Back or a boneless buttermilk Cluck Norris. That's not all that's on offer though, as you can also nab surf and turf platters or Baja fish tacos.

The Botanist, Newcastle

The clue's in the name at The Botanist, where floral-covered interiors and gin cocktails await under a domed glass roof. But it's not all looks here, as signature hanging kebabs and steaks make up the sumptuous menus that are ideal for romance.

Share a gooey plate of camembert or tuck into Peking duck made for two; on weekends, you'll be serenaded by the house band as you eat too. And if you're a fan of roast beef with all the trimmings, then head down for its Sunday lunch offering for a hearty meal with your partner.

Fern Dining Room & Bar

Jesmond Dene House's Fern Dining Room is not only the most stunning setting, but there's also sharing menus and afternoon tea up for grabs come the 14th February. Indulgence is covered right here this V-Day, thanks to meals made with British produce from MasterChef: The Professionals finalist, Danny Parker.
