Bored of all the usual Valentine's Day activites in Newcastle? Then head to Four Quarters on Dean Street, their first bar to open in the North. The two-storey venue features a range of nostalgic gaming options, from retro arcade machines to video game consoles offering the original Mario Kart.

Battle it out at all kinds of fun activities, while sipping on locally brewed beers or themed signature cocktails. What's more, they offer delicious pizzas here as well.

As you fling your arrows from its 14 oches, you can tuck into sharing platters, small plates and sourdough pizza paddles. When it's time to toast to true love or the freedom of singledom, there's plenty of fizz, ice cold pints and creative cocktails.

The Muddler Newcastle

The Muddler is easily one of Newcastle's most stunning restaurants, thanks to its marbled tables and dark interiors with golden touches.

This decadent Grey Street venue fronts an indulgent Pan-Asian menu, including dishes like crispy chilli squid, teriyaki chicken, sushi sharers and elegant cocktails to wash it all down. It makes a great pick for every budget on the 14th of February, and we can't get enough of the Jasmine Dew cocktail, topped with elderflower foam. 

As You Like It

As You Like It is a wonderland of chandeliers, draped curtains and cosy booths, making it the romantic restaurant you won't want to miss out on with your significant other. Dig into a variety of pan-Asian dishes or British classics, all accompanied by cocktails.

The Alchemist Newcastle

Dinner and drinks? The Alchemist Newcastle not only has a swanky look, but also the fizzing and popping theatrical cocktails to match. Wash down your internationally inspired meal with delicious sips, like the Colour Changing One, or the Dead Red Zombie, featuring rum and pineapple. 

What's more, they're also serving their Icons Bottomless Brunch (£35 per person) on Saturdays between 10am and 3pm, where you can enjoy three cocktails and a brunch dish, or upgrade to unlimited drinks for a tenner more. 

The Botanist, Newcastle

The clue's in the name at The Botanist, where floral-covered interiors and gin cocktails await under a domed glass roof. But it's not all looks here, as signature hanging kebabs and steaks make up the sumptuous menus that are ideal for romance.

Share a gooey plate of camembert or tuck into a surf and turf kebab as part of their Valentine's menu made for sharing; on weekends, you'll be serenaded by the house band as you eat too. And if you're a fan of roast beef with all the trimmings, then head down for its Sunday lunch offering for a hearty meal with your partner.

One of the best places for Valentine's Day in Newcastle city centre, Chaophraya is the place for delicious Thai dining. This stunning rooftop destination is bringing you flavourful, romantic meals for wooing a date.

Dig into the likes of braised pork belly in an authentic Northern Thai sauce, black pepper beef stir-fried with garlic and peppers, and southern BBQ chicken skewers, all part of the restaurant's set menus, perfect for sharing.

Valentine's Day in Newcastle restaurants are topped off by Pizza Dough Co, where slices aplenty can be swilled down the hatch by cocktails. From truffle-laced mushrooms to Korean spiced beef, these flavours are sure to hit the spot for you and your loved one. 

Fired at 400-degrees and made using fresh ingredients, these 12-inch pizzas are absolutely delicious and some of our favourites in the area. And if you don't want to go all in? There's a light bites menu for that. 

Lola Jeans

A romantic spot for a meal on the 14th, Lola Jeans is a stunning restaurant bar on Market Street in the city centre. The interiors combine vintage furnishings with quirky modern touches, promising floral armchairs, pink velvet booths and dark panelled walls.

They've won Battle of the Burger for five years in a row, with signature dishes including the bourbon and bacon jam-topped Baby Got Back or a boneless buttermilk Cluck Norris. That's not all that's on offer, though, as you can also nab surf and turf platters or Baja fish tacos.

NQ64 Newcastle

Looking for something a little different to do with your other half? Then head to NQ64 on Valentine's Day for some flirty competition. This quirky activity bar can be found on Pilgrim Street in the city centre, decked out in neon graffiti and dark furnishings.

For a boozy event this Valentine's Day, head to this brilliant Cocktail Masterclass at Bealim House. The cool gin distillery and bar will greet you with a welcome drink, before you get stuck into the world of mixology.

Choose two drinks of your liking, and get behind the bar to stir them up yourself. Their expert bartenders can teach you all you need to know.

Fern Dining Room & Bar

Jesmond Dene House's Fern Dining Room is not only the most stunning setting, but there's alsos and afterno delicious evening à la carte menu and an afternoon tea up for grabs on the 14th of February.

For your Valentine's Day menu in Newcastle, hit up Miller & Carter between the 7th and 15th of February 2026. Enjoy three courses £43.50, featuring wagyu ribeye and millionaire chocolate fondant. If you're feeling extra romantic, add a glass of Moët & Chandon Champagne for just £10.

Otherwise, there's a special sharing steak and Champagne experience for £135 per couple for that extra touch of luxury.

House of Tides

Really want your Valentine's Day date night to pop? Nothing says 'I love you' like House of Tides, the Michelin-starred, four AA Rosette-awarded restaurant by Kenny Atkinson, which is making your meal on the 14th top-notch. Expect elevated British dishes in a Grade I-listed building on Quayside.

You can expect produce-led plates, including salt-aged beef fillet with truffle; braised ox cheek with brioche and chestnut mushrooms, wild line caught seabass alongside Shetland mussels, and so much more. 

Gaucho Newcastle Upon Tyne
