After the huge success of last year's Grimm's Fairy Tales, Pandemonium Performance return to Abney Park with a new version of L. Frank Baum's classic The Wizard Of Oz.

Join Dorothy as she is blown away from her home in Kansas and into the strange and wonderful world of Oz. This unique promenade performance will take you deep into Oz as Dorothy meets the Scarecrow, Tin Woodsman and Cowardly Lion. Together they will embark on a journey to meet the Wizard Of Oz, whilst being pursued by the Wicked Witch of the West.

The production will bring all the intrigue and fun of Baum's novel and promises to be an unmissable opportunity to see this beloved classic in a beautiful and singular location.

Abney Park, in Stoke Newington is one of the 'magnificent seven' garden cemeteries of London. It is a woodland memorial park and Local Nature Reserve, managed by the London Borough Of Hackney.

Please be aware that this show takes place outdoors so please dress accordingly and wear appropriate footwear.

Last year's production of Grimm's Fairy Tales garnered over 75 five star audience reviews on the Design My Night ticket page.

Great location & excellent casting. Particularly loved the characters in the Little Red Riding hood scene! A really enjoyable night made extra entertaining by the interaction between the cast and the audience when moving through the scenes. Shame the show had not been recommended for children as I felt it was most definitely suitable for the younger audience although also contained humour aimed at adults! Fab show all round! Would definitely recommend. Visited Abney Park on 2017-07-30

The scenes were funny and well written, but it felt a little bit like some renegades had taken over the park on a whim - I'm not sure it was as well put together as many other site-specific performances I've been to. Visited Abney Park on 2017-07-30

Our 7 yo and 5 yo daughters and ourselves loved the performances, and the promenade was new to us. Our youngest daughter really likes theatre and got inspired by the promenade, to integrate it to her own shows (she's been having theatre classes for 2 consecutive years). The language used in the performances was familiar. Though that is not a problem for adults, it can be unacceptable for some children (just as well our daughters did not acknowledge that, as English is a second language). We had a great time. Carry on! Visited Abney Park on 2017-07-28

A great concept in a great location, and well performed with sensitivity to the wee'uns present (mostly;-). Really nice evening, would like to thank all the actors for such a good time. Really well done and thought through, with the stories really nicely reinvented (modern references), and good choice of tales. Great actors. Good for all ages, although probably not too young. I'm sure children would get something very different out of it. Wonderful for adults though in any case. Would like to thank everyone for such a nice evening, haven't hesitated to reccommend it! Very creative and well-delivered production!! As young adults with no children we really enjoyed this experience and found it equally entertaining. The actors are phenomenal and the clever use of the space was my favourite part. The audience is led by actors to different parts of the cemetery where different parts of the tales take place. It is not very long and at no point did I feel bored or unimpressed. Would highly recommend for a different kind of experience. Visited Abney Park on 2017-07-20

Another fantastic production by Pandemonium. Abney Park was the perfect setting to tell these 'fairy' tales. A darker take on what we usually see in modern versions but a lot closer to how the Grimms Brothers invented I'm sure! There isn't always a happily every after! Just ask Grandma...The actors were all so believable in their roles. Some of the comic roles were particular highlights for us. The big bad wolf being a key part of that. I'm also thrilled that the chapel was used for Hansel & Gretel and loved how all of the stories were linked together. We'll certainly be looking out for the next production. I've always found Promenade theatre fun and immersive so the haunting, slightly surreal ambience of Abney Park was a perfect setting for Grimm's Fairy tales (often the slightly darker, less candy-coated versions though nothing too scary for little ones!). The tales themselves were wonderfully brought to life by an energised and fully-invested cast. They get the physicality that's needed in such an expansive setting and also that elusive frisson of funny & frightening that's so essential for folk-tales. Highlights included a satisfyingly strapping wolf, an unexpectedly fleshed-out backstory for Rumpelstiltskin and an American Southern Belle with a really big secret... Oh and as an added bonus; we get to go into the renovated non-denominational chapel (that had been burned-out since the 70s I believe) - I've always wanted to go in there! Gorgeously atmospheric in itself and a perfect setting for a very spooky Hansel and Gretel (complete with great Witch!). Visited Abney Park on 2017-07-19

The actors were good, especially Handsel who's acting was superb!! The last story Death's godson was the most interesting. However if the play was more interactive that would add considerably to it. My 8 yr old and I really enjoyed the production. But we were sad when it ended. It was too short! We could easily have seen another 4 fairytales! I brought my daughter as a suprise treat and as we walked between the tales she kept excitedly turning to me telling me how much she loved it and it was the best night! I cannot wait for this! Pandemonium deliver amazing performances, talented casts and interesting settings. I took my mother to see Alice in wonderland in Abney Park and it was brilliant, she couldn't stop talking about the experience for ages. Cast took the time to talk to the audience after and they were all lovely people. The audience was a real mix and all enjoyed.

Great, hilarious production of Alice in Wonderland - even my theatre-reluctant boyfriend and his friends enjoyed themselves and laughed throughout! We're looking forward to this summer's offering in this inique setting. Fingers crossed for more of the same.

Cant wait for this. Have seen Pandemonium's productions in this beautiful cemetery for the past three years consecutively and can honestly say they just get better and better. This company creates atmospheric theatre that makes you think, tremble and laugh. They create a unique brand of theatre in the most unusual places and this astonishing setting works hand in hand with their dark and mischievous style of production. Can't recommend enough.

What a wonderful company!! I have attended their shows for a few years now and they have just got better. In the wonderful surroundings of Abney Park, their shows compliment the beauty that surrounds them. Cannot wait to see this years Summer show of Grimm Fairy Tales!!!

2016 Alice in Wonderland by Pandemonium Performance treated memorials/graves in a despicable way. The Tea Party scene took place of top of a family tomb Many people were upset.
