Paul's Bio

Paul is a writer and performer who likes to write about the day-to-day and his environment around him. Tea, lager, football and staring aimlessly out of the window are among some of his favourite things.

Paul has performed his work at festivals and venues such as Latitude, Bestival, Edinburgh Fringe, Ronnie Scott’s, Tate Britain, Roundhouse and Battersea Arts Centre. In 2013, he wrote and performed his first solo show ‘A Tale From The Bedsit’ and in 2015 he co-wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed No Milk For The Foxes play at Camden People’s Theatre. He also released a collection of audio stories entitled The 90 Sick E.P. He is currently working on a new storytelling project entitled the C/D Borderline.

“His storytelling was thoroughly engaging, layered with experience and iced with wit. I was hungry for more.” Broadway Baby

"He’s an engaging storyteller, confident and comfortable in his stage skin, delivering poetry punctuated by the unexpected rhymes of rap." Lindsey Clarke, Londonist

"Paul Cree has the ability to make you feel like it was you who discovered him, like he was speaking to only you when everyone else started clapping, bloody latecomers. An amazing storyteller, with turns-of-phrases to die for and an effortless rhyming flow." Joshua Idehen, Poejazzi

Paul Cree gives a mesmerising account of growing up in a small town. His tale of moving to Brighton, living in squalor and falling in love are told with humour amid the gritty reality.
