Join Niall Moorjani for a preview of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival hit show 'Mohan: A Partition Story' before it goes on tour for the summer (Cornwall, Brighton Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe).

The show (created by Niall Moorjani and directed by Sanjay Lago) is a storytelling piece set to live music (Dibyo Mukherjee) and  explores the Partitioning of India through the lense of Niall's Grampa, Mohan. We follow him from Sindh (modern day Pakistan) and his family as they make the difficult decision to leave their home and possession behind to escape the violence spreading in the north. What happens after sees the family attacked, divided and shows Partition in all its multifaceted natures. Niall's telling of the story finds humour and heartbreak in equal measure in recounting a story which is massively under told in the UK.

The show was referred to as '
one of the most acclaimed shows at this year’s Scottish International Storytelling Festival' by Giant's Heart and is not to be missed before it sets off on it's travels.

Praise for Mohan and Niall Moorjani:

Niall Moorjani is a master storyteller”- Jess Brough, founder of Fringe of Colour

'From the partition in India to diversity in Scotland, Niall Moorjani weaves a passionate narrative about family, culture and identity. There are straight-to-the-heart moments alongside subtle evocations and pulsing musical rhythms. We are proud to have premiered this event and look forward to it reaching an ever wider public.'  Donald Smith, Director, Scottish International Storytelling Festival.

"A deeply moving, thought provoking, visceral storytelling performance, delivered with passion, flair and humour accompanied by a truly wonderful musical arrangement. A must see - the stand out show of the Scottish International.Storytelling Festival. -Nicola Wright"
