Meet Alice, Dan, Anna, and Larry, four strangers about to change each other's lives forever. The second play by Patrick Marber is a brutally moving piece about the restlessness of love. 'Closer' looks unblinkingly at modern relationships, in which sex is the subject even when it's not, honesty is not always the best policy, and people with choices seem to only be able to make the wrong one.

I was unconvinced by story and characters. The male characters were thinking what women think men think. Women clear and decisive; men shallow, egofree talking all the time about emotions! john visited The Bread & Roses Theatre on 21 Jan 2017
