Vanessa Woolf is a professional storyteller- but back in the 1990s she did a very different job.
She was the only female spark in the UK film industry: a qualified electrician and HGV driver, crewing hundreds of pop videos, TV shows and movies like Star Wars, Harry Potter and James Bond.  This is her true story about that decade, exploring the landscape of work, identity and belonging through her unique perspective as a "girl spark".
Peek behind the scenes of iconic movies, be uplifted and illuminated! It's funny, its got Alec Baldwin in it...and it's true!

audience comments:

“Unbelievably compelling & incredibly crafted & well told. It also has such EPIC resonances for working women, and community and creativity and women’s self perception across our lifespans…. And it was funny and fun and sad and questioning –everything as an audience you wish for.” – JC

“so magnificent – we were so with you, through every hue of emotion – we were laughing, whooping, crying, afraid…The show also had a kind of epic quality to it – at points like we were hearing about a character from mythology, as if your experiences spoke for many of us and told a story about many of us.” -JM

“I was blown away with the story content.... I was so inspired and impressed by your journey, determination and resilience.” – TC

Very atmospheric venue at the Asylum Chapel. A warm welcome ensured we were not too cold! Blankets were made available, and delicious hot chocolate was on sale to warm us up in the interval. The storytelling of the Viy was superb and kept me enthralled, and there was a nice musical accompaniment.
