Why let death get in the way of a good conversation? Join us on a dark October evening at London’s Cemetery of All Souls, Kensal Green for a journey into the unknown with a reconstruction of a Victorian séance.

The rapid scientific progress that took place in Victorian times had an eerie parallel in that society’s popular fascination with spiritualism. If science could allow communication with distant America via the newly-laid transatlantic cable, couldn’t it also provide the means for us to speak to the dead? Interest in ghosts, levitation, table-tapping, automatic writing, shadow photography and telepathy flourished; seances were held at dinner parties and clairvoyants and mediums became international celebrities.

Our medium Sam Lupton has had an interest in the paranormal and psychic phenomena from a young age, and is fascinated by mystery. He believes there is a logical explanation for almost everything, but is constantly hoping to be proved wrong. Maybe that will be one dark night this October?

Both skeptics and believers are welcome to join him, but leave your prejudices at the door and prepare to join hands and to have your mind altered.

Tickets £20 including a Victorian Punch and a 20% donation to the Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery.

Lovely stroll around one of the magnificent seven cemeteries in London. Such a privilege to be able to visit the recently renovated chapel. Impressive shadow master performing original and well choreographed sets. I had a great time and would recommend!
