We will be linocut printmaking botanical images in the beautiful surroundings of Forest Plant Shop, Deptford. This workshop is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners - no experience in printmaking, art or drawing necessary! For the more experienced printmakers, you will have the opportunity to develop your practice with 1:1 support in an inspirational environment. Come and join us for this low-pressure, sociable and fun workshop.
Learn how to make linocut prints, drawing inspiration from the beautiful plants and flowers at Forest. No drawing experience needed as designs can be incredibly simple, yet very effective once printed. A relaxing and creative way to spend your Monday evening, tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.
You will be making your own single-colour relief prints using artists’ lino. Linocut, a derivative of woodcut, is a printmaking process in which images are carved from a piece of linoleum (think kitchen floor tiles). Once the lino has been carved, it is coated with ink from a roller and pressed onto paper to create images, in this case using an adapted printing press. There will also be opportunities to try hand printing. This is a printing process you can easily continue at home.
All materials are provided and you will be able to take home at least 3 prints of your image, along with your carved lino which you can re-use for more prints. The size of the lino used is 100x150mm.

We strive to make our workshops as accessible as possible. Please get in touch if you have any questions or if there are any adaptations you need and we will do our best to accommodate.
Forest, Deptford has step-free access with a widened door. There is not an accessible toilet here as we have been advised it would be too narrow for a wheelchair user. The table is high with stools for sitting (no back support), however there is a lower trestle table that we can use. Get in touch if this is something you may need.
Please let us know if you are a wheelchair user and we will make sure it is reserved for you! There is probably only space for one wheelchair user and a chair for another person on the trestle table to ensure you have plenty of space.
We also regularly hold workshops in fully wheelchair accessible venues so please get in touch if you would like to be added to the mailing list for future events.

About us:
Reanna and Dee met through the DIY art community and formed Lino Print Club with the intention of making the art of printmaking accessible to everyone. Printmaking is often expensive and exclusive with long day workshops. We offer affordable and shorter sessions that are low pressure and provide you with the skills to continue to print at home (or with us!) if you catch the printing bug.
We both have invisible disabilities, are mental health aware and lgbtq+ friendly.

4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
