Kaiseki by Kitchen Theory
- Maida Hill Place
Description
Kaiseki by Kitchen Theory had been running as a sell-out experience since February 2014. Kaiseki is the brainchild of Kitchen Theory’s Chef Patron Jozef Youssef who has worked at Michelin restaurant Helene Darrouze at The Connaught and the Fat Duck and also author of 'Molecular Gastronomy at Home'. The multi-sensory event infuses art, an exceptional 9-course Japanese inspired menu and personalised service to guide guests through a journey of duality.
Kitchen Theory have collaborated with talented artist, calligrapher and director Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic, who has worked with the likes of Kanye West and Kenzo, to showcase his works of art and film. The evening commences with a screening of Aerosyn-Lex’s directorial début short film titled SCRIPTURA VITAE which was commissioned by Channel 4 and Protein London as part of the Random Acts platform. A poetic performance piece exploring duality, the film will serve as the opening act and the inspiration of the multi-course experimental dinner to follow.
Kitchen Theory have drawn on the philosophical, cultural, artistic and multi-sensory elements of Kaiseki, an esteemed multi-course Japanese dining tradition, as their framework while tying in their western and modernist culinary experience to create a fusion experimental experience. Keeping in theme of Kaiseki, the menu comprises of mainly seasonal produce.
