Alex Ridout - Trumpet
Sean Payne - Alto
Elliott Sansom - Piano
James Owston - Bass
Clark Tracey - Drums
Multi-award winning jazz drummer Clark Tracey presents the latest in his long line of groups featuring the younger generation. Since the early 1980s he has led bands which have provided a springboard into the top flight, travelling around the UK, Europe and the Far East.
Musicians introduced over four decades through Clark’s bands include such jazz luminaries as Django Bates, Iain Ballamy, Guy Barker, Nigel Hitchcock, Dave O'Higgins, Mark Nightingale, Mornington Lockett, Julian Arguelles, Gerard Presencer, Alec Dankworth, Simon Allen, Zoe Rahman, Arnie Somogyi, Lewis Wright, Kit Downes and Chris Maddock.
Since forming two years ago, Clark’s current quintet has released an album, appeared at all the major UK jazz festivals and in March completed their first UK tour.
Having a wide range of material to choose from, they include tributes to BeBop, Miles Davis, the Blue Note era as well as originals.
Tonight Clark and his musicians present their “Salute to Miles”.
