'Organ Failure!' Organ Trio feat. Pete Billington, Dave Boraston & Fliss Gorst

Jazz organist/multi instrumentalist Pete Billington, saxophonist Fliss Gorst & trumpeter Dave Boraston invite you to join them for the launch of their new organ trio. Each a band leader in their own right and known for their on stage camaraderie ‘Organ Failure!’ (despite the title) promises to be an entertaining night of blues, swing and latin tunes for your listening pleasure!

Hugely influenced by Ben Webster, Harry ‘Sweets’ Edison & Jimmy Smith, ‘Organ Failure!’ cannot wait to present their take on the classic organ trio to you!

They say - ‘Like most musicians, our launch gig follows many months without opportunity to perform. We recorded separately at home as a trio through lockdown in the hope that we would be able to perform together live when possible. Toulouse Lautrec is the first venue to give us this opportunity for which we are hugely grateful (and very excited).’

PETE BILLINGTON - London based jazz musician Pete Billington has enjoyed an enormously successful career performing alongside jazz greats Alan Barnes, Jamie Cullum, Nikki Iles, Peter King, Tina May, Jim Mullen, Mark Nightingale, Gerard Presencer, Don Weller, Bobby Wellins and Kenny Wheeler. As a freelance player he performs regularly in the West End and has toured with various pop/rock acts such as Colin Blunstone, Rick Astley, Paul Young, Alison Moyet and Michael Ball. He is also a regular on piano with ‘The Fliss Gorst Band’!

DAVE BORASTON enjoys a hugely varied performing career . He tours worldwide with hugely successful Northern Soul outfit ‘Stone Foundation’ as well as regularly with Paul Weller & ‘Nine Below Zero’. A regular on the West London jazz scene Dave’s ‘Jazz at The EPT’ monthly series was a highlight on the jazz calendar for many years. Dave performs regularly with the ‘London Street Band’ and is a main stay in The Fliss Gorst Band.

FLISS GORST enjoys a varied performing career here in London. Her swing band ‘The Fliss Gorst Band’ regularly perform at Ronnie Scott’s and have held a residency at ‘Poppies’ Camden for the past 7 years. Fliss plays regularly in ‘London Street Band’, is Musical Director for theatre show ‘A Tribute To Amy’ and can be seen on UK tour dates with American singer songwriting star ‘Father John Misty’. Fliss presents her own podcast ‘Journeys In Jazz’ available now and is proud to be a Vandoren artist.
