The Drawtones are the coolest, most authentic jazz and funk organ band to emerge on the British Jazz scene.
The Drawtones bring an exciting mix of wonderfully arranged jazz and funk organ classics together with their own compositions. A 5-piece line up of the highest calibre of musicians will dazzle you with their jazz and funk excellence. Their repertoire includes classics from jazz legends such as Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McGriff, Lou Donaldson, Brother Jack McDuff, George Benson, Herbie Hancock and many more...
The Drawtones was formed in early 2016 by their leader and jazz organist Rod Pooley. A 4-piece including Guitar, Bass and Drums becomes a 5 piece with the addition of special guests. They have had very quick success already having supported Curtis Stigers, appearing with various Jools Holland musicians such as Derek Nash, Phil Veacock and Jon Scott. They appeared at the 2016 Rye Jazz Festival. In early 2017 Derek Nash recorded, produced and performed on their debut album "Down the Line" which has received great reviews. They continue to gain ever increasing demand having secured dates with Pizza Express, The Hideaway and various well-known jazz clubs and festivals. They have a tour planned in September along the South Coast with another great jazz and funk organ band The Deptford Rivieras.
