"Tales of passion, heartache and revenge..."

How long does it take for lust to overpower love? For loss to cast its shadow over life? Through the exquisite music of Mozart, Puccini and Verdi, with excepts from The Marriage of Figaro, La Boheme and Il Trovatore, Opera Integra presents an evening of emotions and relationships laid bare through beautiful arias, duets and rousing choruses. Join us as the Countess & Susanna expose the Count’s philandering, Rodolfo and Mimi see true love blossom and die, and Leonora and Manrico strive to find peace in a world governed by jealously & revenge. Throughout all the scenes the Chorus watch, interpret, gossip and comment on the dramas unfolding before them - vocally or as silent observers.

Opera Integra, founded by Brian Galloway as the Addison Opera Workshop in 1971, is an award-winning member of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA), renowned for its high standard productions. Our wide-ranging repertoire includes fully staged operas with a professional reduced orchestra, opera galas, and staged opera scenes with piano.

We believe passionately in the power of opera to bring people together: Integra, from the Latin Integrare : to integrate. This ethos means we not only support vibrant new talent at the early stages of their careers but also provide a platform for those who enjoy singing as a creative pastime to venture the world of staged opera. Chorus singers are encouraged to progress to principal roles and soloists get valuable ensemble experience in the chorus. Former members have taken up concert and recital work and have gone on to work at Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, English National Opera and other British and European companies.

"The group goes from strength to strength with a number of new members and a packed house - they continue to bring grand opera to an appreciative and loyal audience."

Tony Sweeney, NODA

"The chorus singing was superb throughout - a lovely balance of voices with the intensity kept throughout the lovely wide dynamic range – a real triumph."

Zena Wigram, NODA

"Musically the show got off to a fizzing start ... and Strauss’ intoxicating music sparkled. There was some fine singing too. Michelle Smith as Adele made light work of the coloratura and was immensely popular with the audience. Pascal Kennedy’s Dr. Falke was a charming card with a beaming smile. [This] performance was all about the craic and you can’t knock that."

Anthony Evans, Planet Hugill, Review of Die Fledermaus 2017
