ONE NIGHT ONLY: Experience the Unmatched Talent of Gypsy Jazz Guitar Legend Jimmy Rosenberg in London
Prepare for an extraordinary evening as we proudly present the phenomenal, Jimmy Rosenberg. Known globally as the revered “first family” of gypsy jazz, the Rosenbergs are in high demand at prestigious festivals and concert halls worldwide.
Born Joseph Rosenberg into a revered Sinti Gypsy family on April 10th, 1980, Jimmy discovered his love for the guitar at the age of seven. By nine, he was leading his own trio, the Gypsy Kids, showcasing their immense talent within the Gypsy jazz tradition. Their appearance in the acclaimed British documentary “Django Legacy” captured hearts, and at just twelve years old, they released their debut album, “Safari.” A year later, Jimmy unveiled his solo masterpiece, “Swinging with Jimmy Rosenberg,” in 1995.
In 2000, Jimmy mesmerized audiences with his Carnegie Hall debut as part of the prestigious Django Reinhardt Festival at Birdland in New York City. Collaborating with esteemed musicians such as Hot Club de Norvège, Ola Kvernberg, and Stian Carstensen, his reach expanded internationally. From Romane and Jon Larsen to Andreas Öberg, Bireli Lagrene, Angelo Debarre, Les Paul, Frank Vignola, and even Willie Nelson, Jimmy’s brilliance resonated with a global audience.
The story of Jimmy’s life is immortalized in the Dutch film “The Father, the Son, and the Talent” 2007. Additionally, the award-winning documentary “Jon & Jimmy” 2010, which explores his intricate relationship with jazz guitarist Jon Larsen, received the prestigious Dutch Edison Award. After a hiatus, Jimmy returned to the stage in 2007, captivating audiences once again. Jon Larsen aptly described him as “one of the greatest talents in the jazz guitar world.”
In 2022, alongside esteemed companions Prof. David Bamps and Johan Peeters, Jimmy established an academy, the Jolie Môme record label, and a production house, embarking on a new chapter of his extraordinary career. Notably, his recent performances at the Django Reinhardt Festivals in Milan, Italy, and Fountainebleau, France, have left audiences spellbound.
