The inspired music of an adventure from the coast of the Adriatic Sea to the big smoke of London.

Giulio Romano showcases passion, fire and swing with his debut record  'Unexpected Ride'.

Giulio’s quintet showcases quality swing and groove through original compositions and arrangements of tunes by great late artists such as: Hencock, Fagen, Petrucciani and many more.

Italian born guitar player Giulio Romano's debut album 'Unexpected Ride' draws from musical inspirations and players such as Michael Hedges, Tommy Emmanuel, Pierre Bensusan, Antonio Forcione, Ralph Towner, Sylvain Luc, and Egberto Gismonti.

"Giulio Romano has a unique touch. His acoustic playing and original compositions are sublime. He is no doubt one of the greatest guitarists of this generation. I was so lucky to find him!"

Kate Robbins (Actress)

“Sounding great...keep being inspired and inspire who is around you"

Antonio Forcione (Multi-Award Winning Guitarist)

“You have some very original ideas and cool grooves "

Thomas Leeb – Renowned Guitarist

“As I become more and more disillusioned by what purports to be jazz - both live and on disc - out of the blue an album like this arrives, I'm reassured, the old values haven't gone.."

Bebop Spoken Here Blog

“Malaisi displays an impressive fluency on both the acoustic and electric versions of his chosen instrument and his own playing is of a remarkably high standard throughout."

The Jazz Mann

Many of the tunes on the album were composed between the ages of 18-22 and because of Giulio's musical influences, the compositions were structured for solo guitar. Over the years, Giulio re-arranged his material so that it can be performed in a quartet line-up with a distinct jazz flavour.

The Album 'Unexpected Ride' was inspired by Giulio Romano's adventure at age 18 when he moved from a small village in Italy to the massive city of London, with the intention of staying for a short time but was immediately swept up by London's vibrant music scene.
