Beethoven Sonata op 27 no 2 'Moonlight'
Gifted young British pianist John Paul Ekins brings infectious enthusiasm and passion to all his performances, whether live or through his YouTube channel ‘Cats, Chats & 88 Keys’. An engaging speaker, he loves sharing stories about the pieces and composers and what they mean to him.
With ‘moonlight’ as his theme, John takes us on a journey through Chopin’s Nocturnes and the dream-worlds of Debussy, Liszt and Schumann. After a goodnight kiss from Brahms, the concert culminates with Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’, a ballad of unrequited love.
Starting at 7 pm, this 70 minute programme leaves ample time for drinks or dinner in town or an early trip home.
