ANDREW MCKAY RETURNS TO TOULOUSE LAUTREC
ALWAYS PRODUCING A SELL-OUT, STAND OUT GIG! THIS TIME WILL BE NO EXCEPTION. WE TAKE A PERSONAL TRIP WITH ANDREW AS HE PAYS HOMAGE TO THE MAN WHO STARTED HIM ON HIS PATH OF SAX GREATNESS, DEXTER GORDON.
When Andrew was just 16 years old, he was able to witness the legendary Dexter Gordon, live at the infamous Ronnie Scott's! Blown away, it was on this day, Andrew decided to learn how to play! And play he can - as a session musician, McKay has collaborated with various bands across genres - (reggae, rock, jazz & funk) working with bands such as Beck, Prefab Sprout, Huey Lewis & The News to name but a few. Performing across Europe with his band and on the road with hit shows like Buddy and The Ray Charles Story, we're delighted to have the Shepherd's Bush local, back with us.

The tenor sax powerhouse, Dexter Gordon's career spanned over 40years and he was dubbed the 'sophisticated giant' standing at 6ft6 - a top player of bebop along with Dizzie, Parker and Powell! He was known for his large and spacious sound, often playing behind the beat. Titillating audiences with his signature solos - inserting the occasional Happy Birthday or Wagner musical quotes as he blew the house down! Expect a set curated to delight with tunes like Fried Bananas, Second Balcony Jump, Rainbow People, Boston Bernie, Panther and standards that "Long Tall Dexter" played and recorded.

2) Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
3) We operate a Check-21. If you are lucky enough to appear younger than 21 you may be asked for photographic ID.
4) Seating is available on a first come, first served basis only. Latecomers may be required to stand until seating becomes available.
5) Reserved seating is only available for ticket holders of 7 or more people. Please contact the venue if this is the case.
