Nuanced, Polished modern jazz from a high calibre band
This top UK band are recording their debut album in summer 2018 and are very excited to share their new music with you along with fresh arrangements of standards. Expect stylish and sophisticated contemporary straight ahead jazz from a band comprising of some of the UK's premier jazz musicians.
The Alex Merritt/ Steve Fishwick Quintet formed back in 2014 and has been polishing it's group sound and dynamic at knock out shows, at Ronnie Scott's as well as other clubs in London and around the UK, over the past four years and is now set to record this summer. The quintet sound draws on the collaboration of Joe Henderson and Kenny Dorham as well the music of John Coltrane and more contemporary influences such as modern US saxophone masters Dick Oatts and Jerry Bergonzi.
