Giulio Romano showcases passion, fire and swing with his record
'Unexpected Ride'
Giulio Romano's debut album 'Unexpected Ride' is a reflection of his adventure from the coast of the Adriatic Sea to the big smoke of London.
A swinging and groovy night feauturing original music by Italian guitar player Giulio Romano as well as some arrangements of legendary standard jazz tunes.
Italian born guitar player Giulio Romano's debut album 'Unexpected Ride' draws from musical inspirations and players such as Michael Hedges, Tommy Emmanuel, Pierre Bensusan, Antonio Forcione, Ralph Towner, Sylvain Luc, and Egberto Gismonti.
Many of the tunes on the album were composed between the ages of 18-22 and because of Giulio's musical influences, the compositions were structured for solo guitar. Over the years, Giulio re-arranged his material so that it can be performed in a quartet line-up with a distinct jazz flavour.
The Album 'Unexpected Ride' was inspired by Giulio Romano's adventure at age 18 when he moved from a small village in Italy to the massive city of London, with the intention of staying for a short time but was immediately swept up by London's vibrant music scene.

“As I become more and more disillusioned by what purports to be jazz - both live and on disc - out of the blue an album like this arrives, I'm reassured, the old values haven't gone.."
