
Matr is first and foremost an intimate Nordic dining club experience created by Danish chef Jonas Lorentzen.
Jonas grew up on the Danish Island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea, which has fostered many creative entrepreneurs in the danish food scene and is known for its many culinary delights. Jonas has worked in high end establishments in India, Denmark and the U.K, but has now dedicated himself 100% to the Nordic Food Movement at his Supper Club MATR(old norse for food) drawing inspiration from the likes of Rene Redzepi(Noma) Rasmus Kofoed(geranium) to name a few.
Apart from being a seriously talented chef Jonas is also a master storyteller, each dish has a narrative delivered with the same precision and creativity as goes into the making of the dish itself. The experience is rustic, warmhearted and embracing whilst exploring all your senses to satisfy the expectations of a modern fine dining experience.
You will be enjoying a 7 course meal with 7 wines carefully curated to complement each dish. The produce is 100% seasonal and local and the wines are all natural from small batch producers.
Jonas is a avid forager, so don’t be alarmed if you find herbs and plants you’ve never heard of in the dishes created by Jonas Lorentzen
